“You
will have to explain to me, one day soon.” she promised him and leaned
down and pressed her lips to his temple. She curled her body around his,
spooning him tight. She had a vague memory of Len doing that to and she
had never felt safer. She only hoped Cisco could start to rest easier
now. Against her better judgement, she found herself falling asleep,
lulled by his arm body.
When
she opened her eyes the sunlight was streaming in. Shit, she had fallen
asleep. Gently untangling from Cisco she crept from the room. After
using the bathroom and cleaning up the glass from the floor, she began
to poke around. Grabbing a book on Star Trek Federation ships, something
fell at her feet. She couldn’t believe it, it was the blue prints for the cold gun. She quickly folded it up and shoved it into her bra.
There was no guilt about taking it but she did lean in the doorway to see how Cisco was sleeping. Maybe she would make him breakfast…or maybe not.
Cisco closed his eyes as he felt Lisa curl around him. He felt safe to fall asleep for the first time in weeks. Consciousness slipped from him, and he was sound asleep in minutes.
He was gently woken up as he felt the warmth leave from behind him, feeling unsafe now that he was alone. He rubbed his eyes, not remembering Lisa fall asleep behind him. The whole night was a blur, really. Everything but the nightmares. “Hey Lis? Did I do anything weird last night?” He hollered, not knowing if she was still there. He looked over to the door to see her standing watching him. “Oh hey.” He smiled.
