Picking Up the Pieces || Cisco & Barry

always-going-faster:

Barry jumped when Cisco spoke, swearing as he hit his hip on the counter and his left knee gave out.  Catching himself on the counter, he looked over at the other and nodded weakly. “Yeah, I’m fine. Well, I will be.  What’s wrong? Why are you here?”  He looked at the other with concern, assuming he was here because of trouble.

Cisco’s mouth gaped open at the sight of his broken and battered friend. “Oh my God, Barry, what happened?” It took every part of his being not to comment about the suit and the state of it. The welbeing of his friend was more important. “I wanted to apologize. I was so wrong in trusting Thawne. I guess I still subconsciously crave the mentorship and praise he gave me when nobody else did.” He looked down and hung his hand on the nape of his neck, feeling the cool wristbands against his skin. “Oh, and I reset the passcode so you could set it. It took every part of my being to not take them off before I came over here.” He stood and crossed to his friend, helping him back to his feet. “Let’s get you all patched up first.”
