It really didn’t help that Hartley used his dominant hand to punch the tree given that his only way to communicate with Cisco for the moment was his hands, specifically his right one. Hartley watched Cisco carefully as he almost gelatinously fumbled through his explanation and felt a sneer growing on his face at his ineptness but quickly quelched that feeling, the confusion even more evident. He couldn’t help but be wary at Cisco’s olive branch. Harrison had done the same. Deep down inside, however there was a small glimmer of hope that Hartley couldn’t help but focus on. He couldn’t imagine anyone actually doing what Cisco said for him without an ulterior motive. He was at a loss for words and stared at the man for a bit longer than acceptable before awkwardly signing a Thank You, a small blush evident on his cheeks, before turning away again, rubbing his forehead. He was screwed. He didn’t have access to a lab in which to make new earpieces. And even if he did, he didn’t have the mechanical skills to create something that would stand up to the vibrations Cisco could create. And Hartley actually genuinely wanted to help Cisco… But he couldn’t do that if his eardrum shattered every time.

Can I fix? He signed, pointing to his own ears. Cisco knew that he was the cause of Hartley’s earpieces to break. Therefore, he was going to be the one to fix them. Hey, it also gave him an excuse to bring Hartley back to his apartment and show off his bachelor pad.
