The words hit a nerve- since that was exactly what he used to think he was. Weak. Nothing special. He had gotten better at this, slowly built his self confidence up from the scratch, but to hear this from someone that looked so much like him? Was him, in a sense? Still a low blow.
“Then who are you?” Arms crossed, he hid the hurt behind a challenging look. “Cause it’s kind of like you’re insulting yourself here, you know. Self punching. You’ve gotta love yourself more, man.”
“I’m you. Just, different, I suppose.” He sneered, a sinister smirk pulling at the corners of his mouth. “I have a high enough regard here where nothing can break down the walls. I’m just here to put you back in line.”
