He’s noticed the kid’s shift in mood from where he stood at the cash register. After he took a couple of orders && it didn’t seem like the shop was as busy as this morning, Leonard kind of felt sorry for the guy. He was always surrounded by his buddies && this time had looked like that’s the reason why he was here. Meeting up with those same people. Only, none of them showed up.
Which made the kid look pathetically lonely looking out the window. The older man knew the other’s name by now, he’s ordered enough coffees to last a lifetime after all. Len called over, “Cisco, right? Doesn’t look like your little friends are gonna show up any time soon. Why don’t you order something?” More business for him but he was actually being nice for once.
Cisco popped his head up when he heard his name, hoping it would be one of his friends. Nope. Just the barista. He opened his mouth, wanting to bite back at the guy with a snarky comment, but he decided against it at the last moment and closed his lips. “I suppose you’re probably right,” he accepted it. His new coworkers wanted nothing to do with him, despite the smiles he’d see in passing. He got up and sauntered over to the counter where the stranger stood.
Well, he wasn’t really a stranger. Cisco had seen his probably everyday when he’d come to get coffee for him self & to bribe his coworkers into liking him. “I’ll just have a caramel latte thing. My usual.” He said, pulling out his wallet for his card.
