“I can never do anything right, can I?” Cisco said through gritted teeth as he cradled his crying son in his arms. “Shh, Shh. It’s okay Dante, Daddy’s gotchu,” he cooed. “I’m sorry I’m not here all the time. Daddy’s out saving lives when he’s not here.” At this point, he was talking to both his wife and their infant son. “I know it’s scary when I don’t call, when you and Mommy don’t know what’s going on, and I’m so-”  Cisco’s apology was cut short when his lips were met with Lisa’s.

If worrying about the fact Cisco hadn’t come home last night wasn’t enough the fact that Dante was picking up on her anxiety was much worse. Nothing she tried would calm him down. Lisa had him in her arms holding him close as she rocked him. “Sh sh it’s okay baby he’ll be home soon.” With that Cisco quickly comes through the door and with a heavy sigh of relief and a little frustration she lets Dante down to run over to Cisco. She listens to what Cisco was saying and stays in her spot for a moment before walking over to him and kissing him. “I’m just relieved that you’re okay. But Cisco we do need to talk alone later.” She says tilting her head towards the bedroom door. Lisa refused to let Dante witness any amount of tension, specially between her and Cisco. Not that they usually had any tension, at least not bad tension. Lisa looks him over briefly wondering if he had any wounds that needed tending to. “Are you okay or do you need anything?”

As Dante settled in his arms, Cisco looked over at the clocked and realized it was well past his bedtime. “Hey buddy, how about Daddy reads you a bedtime story and tucks you in, hmm?” He asked, looking at his son. A smile spread across Dante’s face and that was all the confirmation Cisco needed. “Let’s get you ready for bed then.” He put his son down with a groan and watched as he scurried off to his bedroom. Cisco straightened up slowly turned to his wife and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “You always know, don’t you? Let me get Dante settled and then we can talk.” He said, kissing his wife on the cheek and walking after Dante

“Goodnight, Dante, I love you. See you in the morning.” Cisco smiled, closing his son’s bedroom door and letting out a sigh. Without saying a word, Cisco walked to the bedroom and began removing his suit piece by piece, waiting for his wife.
