“I can never do anything right, can I?” Cisco said through gritted teeth as he cradled his crying son in his arms. “Shh, Shh. It’s okay Dante, Daddy’s gotchu,” he cooed. “I’m sorry I’m not here all the time. Daddy’s out saving lives when he’s not here.” At this point, he was talking to both his wife and their infant son. “I know it’s scary when I don’t call, when you and Mommy don’t know what’s going on, and I’m so-” Cisco’s apology was cut short when his lips were met with Lisa’s.
Lisa was still a little annoyed until she watches Cisco with Dante. She could never be upset at all when she saw what an amazing father Cisco was. Lisa smiles when Cisco puts Dante down and quickly goes over to their son and hugs him from behind tickles Dante’s neck a little. “Hey, your not going to bed without giving Mommy a hug and kiss right?” Dante turns around quickly and wraps his arms around her neck as Lisa hugs him then gives him a kiss on the nose making him squint and giggle. He then returns a kiss to her nose smiling. “Thank you, I love you sweetie. Have sweet dreams and you know Mommy and Daddy are just in the next room if you need us.” Dante smiles and says “I love you Mommy” before running off into his bedroom.
She stands up and watches as Dante goes into his room excitedly before turning her gaze back to Cisco. “I’m your wife Cisco, of course I always know.” Lisa closes her eyes as his kisses her on the cheek, still just relieved to know he was safe. With a nod she says “I’ll get ready for bed and just meet you in there.” By the time Cisco comes into the bedroom, Lisa had just been finishing brushing her teeth. Once she was done she comes back into the bedroom dressed in her silk nightgown and was equipped with the first aid bag. “Well this is a much better view than last night.”
Cisco sat on the bed and fiddled with his shoes before kicking them off. “You know, I feel the same way,” he said as he pulled off his jacket, revealing a dark tank top underneath. He looked up at his wife and his eyes immediately went to hers.
“I’m sorry, Lis. We were on a stakeout, I couldn’t risk blowing our cover. We followed these guys from here to Star City and back. There was, well, a lot of fighting, and since I don’t have super speed, I took quite a bit of the physical blows. A bullet may or may not have grazed my side, I’m not completely sure. The adrenaline is still coursing through my body.” Cisco paused, standing and closing the distance between them. He wrapped his arms around his wife and leaned in a gave her a soft kiss. “Baby, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I didn’t let you know I was okay.”
