“I can never do anything right, can I?” Cisco said through gritted teeth as he cradled his crying son in his arms. “Shh, Shh. It’s okay Dante, Daddy’s gotchu,” he cooed. “I’m sorry I’m not here all the time. Daddy’s out saving lives when he’s not here.” At this point, he was talking to both his wife and their infant son. “I know it’s scary when I don’t call, when you and Mommy don’t know what’s going on, and I’m so-” Cisco’s apology was cut short when his lips were met with Lisa’s.
Lisa lifts up his shirt to get a look at his side. “It is just a graze but you still need it cleaned up at least.” Lisa grabs a warm wet cloth and holds it to the small wound. She listened to Cisco trying her best to understand and although she did understand the situation she knew there was still that chance. The chance that she could have lost him, the chance that Dante could have lost his father. Lisa doesn’t respond until after he wraps his arms around her and kisses her. Her hands placed on his arms. “Cisco, when you first walked in the door tonight you asked if there was anything you could do right. Before I say anything else, I need you to know that yes you can. You are an amazing father and you know I’m not being biased I actually have experience to back that up. And you are a great husband. I do and always will love you.”
Lisa gives a heavy sigh before backing out of his embrace. “But Cisco you don’t know how worried I was or how useless I felt. I don’t regret or would trade even one second that I’ve had with D.L. but I should have been out there fighting by your side. Granted that is technically my fault since I’m such an over protective nut of a mother I can’t bring myself to trust anyone else to watch him besides us. And Mick but hes never around. D.L is going to be going into Preschool in two weeks and while it will be hard for me to not wait outside all day… I was fully prepared to get back in the game with you. But that isn’t likely to happen any time soon” With a shake of her head saying. “I know how fast all that tends to happen, I get it I do but takes two seconds to type Stakeout in a text. D.L and I cannot lose you Cisco, I can’t lose you specially not now.” ((hint hint xD))
Cisco tensed and sucked air through his teeth when Lisa placed the cloth to his side. “I know. I can’t even begin to imagine what Dante would think or how he would react to his Dad being here one day and gone the next. I’m sorry, Lis. I should have sent something out, even if I had someone else send you something.” He paused, cocking his head to the side. “Wait, are you saying what I think you’re saying?” His face brightened up, and a hand went to Lisa’s stomach.
