Nobody, it doesn’t matter.” Cisco sniffled, using one hand to hold a bag of frozen peas to his face and holding the other close to his body. “I’ll be fine,” he lied.

Lisa watches him with a clenched jaw as he maneuvers in pain. It took all she had not to race after the punks and give them a clear piece of her mind. She liftshis shirt to see the extent of the damage. The last thing she wanted to do was cause him anymore discomfort or pain. So when she reaches out to touch his side she barely runs her finger tips softly down his side. “Good news is, I don’t see any sign of internal bleeding. But we should get you to the hospital. Just to make sure you don’t have any broken ribs.”

As the adrenaline wore off, the pain became more and more prominent. Cisco struggled to sit up, nodding his head. “I should get out of my suit then. I’ll be back,” he strained, getting up and slowly walking to the other room to change. He forced his shoes of while still standing, and stepped out of his leather pants and into a pair of sweatpants. He bent down and grabbed his pants that lay in a heap. He felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his side as he stood straight. He folded his pants and tossed them in his dresser drawer and leaned against things as he made it to the door. After a few seconds, he felt his lips begin to tingle. This took more energy than he originally anticipated. Cisco began focusing on his breathing. In, Out. In, Out.

In the fight, the thugs kicked Cisco in the torso multiple times, fracturing several ribs. The kicking bruised his lung and caused severe breathing problems. Along with that, Cisco had a broken arm and many lacerations across his face and hands.

“Lis? I think you should call for an ambulance,” he called out, leaning against the doorframe of his bedroom. “I can’t-” he paused, taking a shallow breath. -breathe.” And with that, Cisco collapsed on the floor, his breathing shallow and his face twisted in pain.

He was lucky they were so close to the hospital, as the ambulance got there in mere minutes. The next thing Cisco remembered was an oxygen mask being placed over his face and the paramedics lifting him on the backboard and onto the stretcher.
