heart-on-her-sleeve:

Ray sighed, “I mean, self defense classes can never hurt, but I still don’t feel comfortable letting you throw yourself into inevitable danger.” He paused, locking eyes with Grace and he felt a feeling of guilt wash over him. “Sara, I know how you fight, and you’re good. Grace, if you want to learn, learn from Sara. She’s the best of the best.” Ray switched his gaze to Sara. “Just, let’s not learn killing yet, hmm?”

Sara shook her head. “I wouldn’t even dare.” She winked

Grace chuckled softly. “No worries, big brother. I don’t even like to kill a spider.”

Sara smiled “Let’s train after lunch? Then you have a light foundation in you.”

Grace looked at her brother “I’m sure I will be good at this, in no time.”

Ray pointed a playful finger at Sara. “You better not,” he smiled.

He came back after lunch to the two ladies training. He entered quietly and watched from the edge of the room.
