As soon as Ray was released from the hospital, he convinced Oliver to distract Amelia while he ran – well, hobbled back to the Waverider to pack up the essentials. His tools, clothes, souvenirs, and the ring.
As Ray approached the Waverider, memories came flooding back of the battle. He stopped dead in his tracks, leaning heavily against the wall of the Waverider as pain flashed across his head along with more memories. He took a few deep breaths and addressed the AI on the ship. “Gideon?”
“Yes, Mr. Palmer?” She replied, a hologram popping up over the main set of controls.
“I need you to retrieve Amelia’s Ring.”
“Of course! It will be in your quarters.”
“Thank you, Gideon,” Ray smiled, moving quickly towards his quarters. As the door slid open, Ray stopped in his tracks. After the battle, he must have run in here looking for the ring. Looking to protect it for Amelia. His Amelia. There were pieces of his suit scattered everywhere, some spattered in blood. He pushed the memories from his mind as he refocused on the task at hand – retrieving Amelia’s ring.
There it was, sitting in it’s box, dead center on his end table. His mouth pulled into a smile as he approached it, pulling the top open.

“Still just as perfect as the day I found it. Perfect Ring for the perfect woman.”
