It had been a while since Amelia had been training with Sara, Oliver and Diggle but she loved it. It gave her the feeling she was powerful and somehow independent.
Being knocked off of her feet by Sara, she felt something cracking but didn’t worry much about it.
Helping her up, Sara smiled “You really improved since last time, Mia. Too bad, you got distracted.” She teased. Amelia grinned “I will beat you next time, Lance.” She spoke determined.
Oliver smirked “You really are a Queen, aren’t you? Stubborn but determined.” Helping her on the table, he took off her shoe and sock. “But I need to see if that’s okay.” It was his turn to speak determined.
Being handed her hoodie by Sara, Amelia looked up, watching Ray come in. She was aware of how she looked but still, she wasn’t worried about it. “Ray…”
“Amelia-” Ray’s voice stopped before he could say anything else. He thought he’d surprise Amelia with lunch, but he never imagined he’d walk into this. “Are– Are you okay?” He dropped the bags from Big Belly Burger on a table and walked swiftly over. He looked seriously at Oliver before starting again. “Is she okay? Oliver. Is. she. okay?”
Oliver let him near Amelia, knowing it would be fine. He only stayed close for if it would get out of hand. Giving him a slight nod, Oliver pursed his lips. “She’s fine. Her ankle is slightly bruised but she’ll be okay.”
Amelia looked at the both of them. “That’s not what he means, Ollie.” Looking at her brother, her gaze went to Sara and finally Ray. “Those scars… I don’t remember them all, how I got them but they’re mostly from my time on Lian Yu. It’s mostly scar tissue now so it doesn’t hurt anymore. Sara and Oliver have scars too. I know it looks bad, but they remind me of a time, I turned into a survivor.”
Letting Sara wrap a bandage around her ankle, Amelia weakly smiled. “I know I am not that person anymore, Ray. But I am fine, really.”

“I mean, that is what I meant, but-” Ray stopped, his eyes jumping to her scars. “Oh my God, Amelia.” His words were exasperated, as if with his exhale also came his words. His hand lifted to touch her back, but he stopped himself. They had just started dating, there were boundaries he shouldn’t cross until it was discussed.
“I- I’m sorry. I’ll leave you guys be. I should have texted, I’m sorry.” Ray turned on his heel and walked swiftly out, leaving the burgers behind.
