“I know bits and pieces, just me being nosy between my own calls,” Tom confessed, knowing he wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. “I heard there was a nasty fire, and someone was trapped inside under a beam. They said they didn’t know how long you’d been in there, and they were having a hard time getting in. Next thing I heard on the radio, they were en-route to the hospital, with the patient stabilizing despite serious injuries.” Tom couldn’t find it in himself to look away from the man’s gorgeous eyes. “I think so, too. I’m glad I’m so oblivious to door numbers and stumbled into you.”
“So I wasn’t in great condition when they got me so they had to stabilize me? That’s scary I never been in that situation before where my life was in danger” Gerald said pursing his lips together giving puppy dog eyes sighing shaking his head “okay let’s talk about something else..so tell me about yourself?”
Tom nodded. “Yeah, it’s scary. When your body isn’t stable, it’s very dangerous.” He looked up at the monitor. “You’re pretty stable now, though. Nothing to worry about.” A smile pulled at the side of his lips. “Yeah, sure. Something else. Hmm.” Tom wracked his brain, trying to find something to talk about. “Are you dating anyone?”
“Oh good I’m glad that’s the case” Gerald said giving a small smile relaxing a bit when the other changed the subject finally he wasn’t sure if he wanted to talk and he wasn’t sure if he even wanted to remember, Gerald never had to worry about this type of thing before it was strange “hm? Dating anyone? No I’m not..single as a Pringle”
“Me too,” Tom admitted, his cheeks becoming rosy and blushed. He reached a hand down from the railing and trailed his fingers along Gerald’s arm. “Me too,” he grinned, tucking his fingers back into his crossed arms. Tom was thankful for whatever fate had led him here, and his face showed it. A soft smile was plastered on his face, and he couldn’t bring his gaze away from the other’s face.
