“Me? A boyfriend? Nah. I’ve been too wrapped up in work to even think about it. Plus, not many have the patience or the stomach for all of my work stories,” Tom explained, knowing he could sometimes go into too much detail. He bit the inside of his lip before starting again. “How are you feeling? Pain okay? Breathing okay?”

“Oh you’ll fine someone I’m sure shoot…you just gotta find someone in the same field or someone who can stomach it is all” he offered giving a small smile wondering if the other would think of him as a potential boyfriend although he was getting ahead of himself it would be nice if they clicked enough Gerald could never find anyone cause they were all scared of his family “if I breath deep my lungs feel like they are burning a bit and the pain besides that is in my ribs mostly and the stitches”

“Or, I just need to have better stories from work on hand,” Tom said with a chuckle. He looked the man over again, and a sympathetic smile came to his face. “Sounds about right, just take it easy, okay? Its gonna feel like hell for a bit,” he explained. Part of him wanted to ask the other out right then and there, but another part of him knew that this man had been through a terrible ordeal, and was technically inebriated from pain medications. He couldn’t take advantage of the other like that.

“I’ll try my best but I’m not one to take it easy when others tell me too…I get rebellious” he told the other truthfully shrugging his shoulders giving a small smile as he tried to relax coughing a bit clearing his throat looking to the man curiously putting his hand on the others “you okay? You seems to be super deep in thought there based on those lines on your forhead”

A small chuckled escaped Tom’s lips as he sat up from his position leaning on the bed. “I’m just thinking. About vulnerability and trauma, among other things. Like, I know we just met–” His voice trailed, his brow furrowing once more. “But I just feel this connection that I can’t ignore.”
