Ray chuckled before his face fell into a deadpan. “Wait, daughter? We’re having a girl?” His face filled with adoration and love, holding Amelia’s face in his hands as he kissed her deeply. “Oh my God,” he breathed, a hand falling from her face to rest on her baby bump.
Ray looked to the deserts and laughed. “Maaaybe,” he drawled. “You know me so well. But hey, there’s fruit. That’s not desert, that’s fruit!”
She chuckled soft “We will meet Anna in four months.” Amelia smiled wide.
“Okay, fair enough.” She smirked, taking a sip of her sparkle water.
“I can’t believe it. We’re going to have a little girl,” Ray gushed. “You know I’m going to buy all the fluffy things and tutus for her, right?”
A happy hum escaped Ray’s lips. “You know, I didn’t just bring you here for good views and desert.” His heartrate started rising, and he suddenly felt like his stomach was in this throat. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
Amelia chuckled. “I already can imagine how you will handle some subjects.” she teased.
Amelia looked curious when he mentioned the reason, why he brought her to the date. A little concerned, she bit her lip. “What is it? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, no. Things are good. Actually, more than good. They’re amazing,” Ray rambled, his smile making his eyes crinkle around the corners. He got up and stood beside Amelia, taking her hand in his. “Through thick and thin, you’ve been there for me, and I for you. When I was nearly killed, you were there for me in the hospital. I missed half of your pregnancy. Hell, I’ve missed so much while I was off with the Legends. I don’t want to miss anything else,” Ray explained, slowly getting down on one knee. “Amelia Isabelle Marie Roberta Queen. I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone or anything.” Ray spoke lovingly, but also very precisely as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a little box. He opened it and watched Amelia’s face. “Amelia, will you Marry Me?”
