Stefan rose an eyebrow at the other as he took another sip of his coffee. “If you say so,” he grinned, taking a bite of his sweet treat. He eyed the man, being struck by a sense of familiarity once again.
“You know, I can’t shake this feeling,” Stefan paused, taking a sip of his coffee. “You just look so familiar and I can’t put my finger on it.”
“I look familiar? How so?” He asked curiously tilting his head his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he took a bite of his danish ignoring the others previous comment choosing to focus on the later statement “we never met before..where do you think you know me from?”
Miles really hoped the other didn’t know his family because that would be inconvenient most didn’t like his family.
“I’m not sure,” Stefan explained, bringing a finger to his lips. “I think it might be the eyes? Maybe the nose? Eh, forget it.” Stefan took another drink of his coffee, never breaking his gaze from the other. “You kind of look like…No, it can’t be. They moved to Louisiana,” he thought out loud, his lips hiding behind his coffee cup.
“Stefan I want you to explain what your trying to say right now please you have me curious..you can’t just say those kinda things and then not explain yourself” he said with a huff sipping his drink letting out a hum his heart jumping out of his chest a bit thinking that the other had figured it out .
“I’m just saying you look like some people I used to know,” Stefan explained calmly. He took a small sip of his coffee, followed by a bite of his pastry. “You don’t happen to know the Mikaelson family, do you?” Stefan awaited the reply, watching the other carefully.
“Oh okay” miles said relaxing from where he has been tensing up a bit fidgeting looking to his cup now rather then Stefan thinking this might end before it even started and he had to mentally prepare himself for that one.
“Well that depends if your someone who hates their guts or are on okay terms with them” he said looking up and for the first time since they met looking vulnerable “I don’t want you to hate me for something I can not help…I just want to go to school and attempt to be normal..”
Stefan watched the other, taking the last crumbly bite from his scone. “I mean, the Mikaelson family and I have had our good times and our bad, but currently things are…” Stefan paused as he found the right word to describe it. “Neutral. Yeah, things are neutral right now. On the better side of neutral, actually.” Stefan smiled gently at the man, noticing the timid look on the other’s face. “Why would I hate you? From what I gathered thus far, you aren’t like them at all. I’m trying my hand at college. Normalcy. The whole gambit.”
