Tom’s head remained in his hands, softly shaking his head back and forth. “I know, but I don’t want to know!” His voice burst forth from his throat, louder than he meant it. Tom stood and backed away from the other putting his back in a corner. He slowly slid down the wall, his hands wrapping around his knees once he reached the ground. “How can I be supernatural when I’m just a human? Just because there’s someone else out there with my face, that doesn’t mean I’m supernatural. I’m normal, just normal.”
Ashley knew this wasn’t about her anymore. She sat across him and placed her hand on his knee. “Hey… hey… listen to me…” She let him look up at her. “I have those eyes but other than that I look normal right?” Ashley smiled “You are normal. You’re human. Don’t let the supernatural dominate your life. Let your life dominate your supernatural side.” She sat next to him. “I do.”
Tom looked up to meet the other’s eyes. He nodded in agreement, unable to form the words he wanted to say. “It just follows me everywhere. It seems I can’t ever escape it.”
Ashley smiled “As far as I know, I only saw one version of you and that’s you.” She chuckled “I am sorry, I had to tell you before I showed you this.”
Tom sighed as he relaxed his body, starting with his arms and shoulders, and working is way down to his feet. “Thank you,” he paused, looking at her hospital badge. “Ashley. It means a lot. My knowledge of the supernatural is small, and it was all dumped on me suddenly. I moved immediately, trying to distance myself. But it seems the supernatural is everywhere, huh?”
