Ray was working late in his office at Palmer-Queen Technologies one night, working on upgrades and modifications on the ATOM suit. Everyone had left hours ago, leaving him alone in the office at nearly 11pm. When he stayed this late, he was always anxious to return home to his family, hoping to catch his wife before she turned in for the night.
Ray began to put away his equipment, ensuring that the heavy things were put away properly before he left the office. He heard the elevator ding, and he didn’t need to turn around to know it was security checking in on him, just as they did every night he was at work late. “I’m fine guys, just packing up to head home to my lady,” a smile could be heard in his voice as he spoke. “I’ll be out of here in about 15.”
It had been a while since she had met her mother when Anna had somehow travelled back in time with her cousins Mia, William and Connor. She wanted to meet her dad as bad she wanted to meet her mother.
Standing behind him, Anna stared at him in awe at first before she knew what to say. “Dad?” She stuttered a little “Is it really you?” She gasped
Ray continued to tuck a few papers into his briefcase. “Dad?” He laughed, knowing full well that Amelia was a ways away from giving birth. “Very funny, you know that Amelia isn’t due to give birth for a few more weeks,” Ray joked, still thinking he was talking to a security guard.
Ray turned around, briefcase in one hand and jacket draped over the other. His eyes locked with the other, noticing a familiarity about her but not actually recognizing her. He blinked a few times, trying to figure out where he recognized her from. “I’m sorry, do I know you?”
