Anna looked shocked “Mom was there when we arrived in the Bunker. But we only met for a short while.” She bit her lip, wanting to tell the truth so badly. Then she shook her head “I won’t, I promise.”
Looking around the office, she stared at it in awe. “Wow, it looks so familiar. It didn’t change at all.”
“That’s good, honey. I’m glad you saw your Mom.” Ray’s heart broke at what he knew needed to be done. “You know me, never one to make much of a change.” He voice was thick with emotion as his hand caressed his daughter’s head. “Anna, I love you. I always will. I’m so glad that I had the chance to meet this you, but for the sake of the future – your future. I need to send you back.” A few tears streamed down his face as his eyes fully met Anna’s again. “I love you, Anna, and I can’t wait to get to know you. To watch you grow, to watch you learn how to walk, and talk, and discover the world around you. I can’t wait to watch you grow into this beautiful, young, strong woman.”
