Ray Palmer | DC’s Legends of Tomorrow | ENTP
Extroverted Intuition: Ray Palmer (a.k.a. “The Atom”) a technological genius. The whole concept behind his Atom suit comes from playing with conceptual science that most people see as impossible. His motivation for the building the suit comes his realization of the potential dangers created by Starling City’s current vigilantes. After surviving a near death experience, he joins Rip Hunter’s cause because he feels there are more opportunities to make a difference that way than by merely being part of Team Arrow. Ray is constantly finding new ways to use his shrinking technology to make him a valuable asset to the team.
Introverted Thinking: Ray loves to understand how things work. He invented the technology for his Atom suit and designed the suit itself. He’s fascinated by the Waverider’s advanced technology, enough to learn it and be able to help with repairs. Ray is very good at paying attention to the small details of the situations the team finds itself in and keeping track of them for the plans they create.
Extroverted Feeling: Ray loves to help others. He created his Atom suit for the express intention of protecting people in Starling City, so no one else would die like his fiance. Ray’s desire to help others is so strong, in fact, that he often let’s it overwhelm his logical sensibilities, and put himself into dangerous situations he should have stayed clear of (like defending the Russian prisoner or confronting bandits in Salvation). For this reason, he’s often referred to as “the boy scout” by Snart.
Introverted Sensing: Ray’s biggest holdover influence from the past is the death of his fiance Anna, which spurs him to prevent such a thing happening again in the future. Otherwise, Ray is not very concerned with past occurrences. He’s incredibly forward facing and moving, not letting himself be held back by past trends or experiences. He looks at most of his past experiences for what possibilities they might hold, giving them a positive spin.
