“but we look the same? I mean, it kind of matters,” tom replied, brows raised. the confusion dissipated from his face, only to be replaced with awe. “i think i’ve read about this somewhere. dopple-somethings, right?” tom wracked his brain for the proper word, his mind only drawing a blank as he continued to watch the mirror image before him.
“doppelgangers.” silas corrected, placing his hands over rather narrow hips. out of all his shadow selves, tom was the one he was mostly fond of. “where did you read about yourself?” he asked curiously. the aloofness cast upon his face contrasted the others awe struck expression. “you may pick your jaw up off the floor. it must be overwhelmingly splendid to finally see yourself. you’re welcome.” a proud, rather arrogant smile curled on his lips.
“right, doppelgangers,” tom replied, a smile replacing the expression of awe on his face. “uh, mostly google and a few old library books i had to dust off from storage.” he realized how dumb he sounded, using google as a source. he raised a brow at the man, cocking his head to the side. “so are you the original, or a copy, like me? I hear there’s only three of us.”
