Matt groaned as he tried to sit up, a hand stopping him and easing him back to the hospital bed. “God, what happened? Where am I?” His head was pounding, and for the life of him, he couldn’t remember what had happened…or who he was.
Cordelia only removed her hand once she was sure Matt was going to stay put, the blonde smiling in relief at the fact he’d finally woken up. It had been a couple of days since she’d brought him to the hospital ( only after her blood seemed to do nothing ), and for a moment the girl thought she might have to call some of Matt’s actual friends.
“Thank god! You scared the crap out of me,” Lila scolded, her smile remaining in spite of her stern tone. “You’re in the hospital. No idea what happened, though. Was hoping you could tell me. I just found you passed out near your truck. Do you want me to get your doctor or just break you out? Promise to be on my best behaviour.”
His head felt like it was being split open. “Hospital?” Matt’s voice cracked as the sound escaped his dry throat. “Why am I in the hospital?” He lifted his wrist, the tubes and wires not letting him move too much. Who are you?” With each sentence, his voice became more rushed, emotion bursting to the surface as confusion set it. “Who am I?”
