Matt nodded as he poured the drink. “Over achiever sounds great. Sounds better than show off, anyway,” he smiled, sliding the drink over to Ella. “You try that, and I’ll put your order in.” Matt turned away and headed back into the kitchen putting a burger with everything on the side for a bar order. There wasn’t much on the line in front of it, so he knew it wouldn’t be too long. He rejoined his friend and leaned on the bar. “Wait, no break? I think that’s illegal, El. You gotta eat. Burger will be up in a few. How’s the drink?” He asked, raising a brow.
“Oh definitely! I’d love to come bug you at work one of these days. I think I have a day off coming up, so maybe either after work today or on my day off.”
“Yes, well to-mate-oh to-mot-oh, unfortunately.” She teased, picking the drink up once it was in front of her. She nodded, “Thank you.” And sipped at the drink, it was good, he had definitely gotten better though she wondered how many cocktails he made at the bar since most seemed to take just straight shots. “Thank you, and the drinks is good. You’ve gotten better, though I’m surprised because I didn’t know too many people ordered cocktails.” She rolled her eyes, “I’m pretty sure the amount they have you working here is illegal to, Blue Eyes, so don’t start getting on me about not getting a break.”
“Yes well, if by bug you mean I keep forcing you to try on clothes then by all means.” She teased, sipping at her drink. “We’re closed early today so she can check my inventory, but I am sure I can sneak you in.”
“I usually make more cocktails on Friday and Saturday nights, if the crowd gets thick. But you know Mystic Falls, most people get out of town to party. So, yeah. Still mostly shots. I’ll make myself mocktails to practice every once and a while,” he added with a goofy smirk, knowing he was up to no good. “I don’t work that much.” Okay, maybe he picked up every shift put up on the tradeboard and only got home to sleep.
“Any chance I have to have you style me is time well spent,” Matt smiled, draping the bar towel over his shoulder. “I’m off in a few hours, but I don’t want you to get in trouble for sneaking me in.”
