“Have you seen your brother? He’s terrifying and highly protective over those he loves,” Ray smiled. “For that, I’m forever grateful.” His hands drifted to her baby bump, and his smile grew.
“You know, I’ve had money saved for a long time. After you told me about our little one, I started a savings account for them. You know, college fund and all,” Ray stated seriously, resting his chin on Amelia’s shoulder.
She started to laugh. Oliver was indeed terrifying to a lot of people. “He still has to get over the fact, he lost. The last time I did train with him, I beat his ass.”
“This kid will be spoiled rotten by everyone, I am sure.” Amelia smiled. “I’m curious what major it will be when they get into college, though.”
“Good,” Ray said firmly. “He deserves to get his ass kicked a few times. Take him down a few pegs.” He finished with a chuckle. “I’d like to think they might take after their dad and be an engineer and scientist, but I think if they take after their mom, I’d be okay with it, too.”
Ray kissed Amelia on the neck before continuing. “How is our little one? Are you sleeping alright? Are they kicking a whole lot yet?”

He had stopped when he heard his name called out, turning on his heel when he heard Amelia behind him. A look of concern and confusion was plastered across Ray’s face. “Was I supposed to assume that you were covered in scars? I mean, I know you’ve had a rough past, but I could never have even imagined anything like that.”
Ray’s fingers twisted together as he thought. He paced from the bar to the stairs in silence twice before joining Amelia on the stairs. “Why didn’t you tell me?” His voice sounded broken and distant, his eyes not meeting hers.
It had been a while since Amelia had been training with Sara, Oliver and Diggle but she loved it. It gave her the feeling she was powerful and somehow independent.
Being knocked off of her feet by Sara, she felt something cracking but didn’t worry much about it.
Helping her up, Sara smiled “You really improved since last time, Mia. Too bad, you got distracted.” She teased. Amelia grinned “I will beat you next time, Lance.” She spoke determined.
Oliver smirked “You really are a Queen, aren’t you? Stubborn but determined.” Helping her on the table, he took off her shoe and sock. “But I need to see if that’s okay.” It was his turn to speak determined.
Being handed her hoodie by Sara, Amelia looked up, watching Ray come in. She was aware of how she looked but still, she wasn’t worried about it. “Ray…”
“Amelia-” Ray’s voice stopped before he could say anything else. He thought he’d surprise Amelia with lunch, but he never imagined he’d walk into this. “Are– Are you okay?” He dropped the bags from Big Belly Burger on a table and walked swiftly over. He looked seriously at Oliver before starting again. “Is she okay? Oliver. Is. she. okay?”
Oliver let him near Amelia, knowing it would be fine. He only stayed close for if it would get out of hand. Giving him a slight nod, Oliver pursed his lips. “She’s fine. Her ankle is slightly bruised but she’ll be okay.”
Amelia looked at the both of them. “That’s not what he means, Ollie.” Looking at her brother, her gaze went to Sara and finally Ray. “Those scars… I don’t remember them all, how I got them but they’re mostly from my time on Lian Yu. It’s mostly scar tissue now so it doesn’t hurt anymore. Sara and Oliver have scars too. I know it looks bad, but they remind me of a time, I turned into a survivor.”
Letting Sara wrap a bandage around her ankle, Amelia weakly smiled. “I know I am not that person anymore, Ray. But I am fine, really.”

“I mean, that is what I meant, but-” Ray stopped, his eyes jumping to her scars. “Oh my God, Amelia.” His words were exasperated, as if with his exhale also came his words. His hand lifted to touch her back, but he stopped himself. They had just started dating, there were boundaries he shouldn’t cross until it was discussed.
“I- I’m sorry. I’ll leave you guys be. I should have texted, I’m sorry.” Ray turned on his heel and walked swiftly out, leaving the burgers behind.
Nate: We’re angry! We’re getting revenge. We’re a little bit tipsy. We should not be driving. We’re taking the bus.
Ray: I love the bus!
Ray: SNEAK ATTACK!
Sara: *hits Ray with her staff* Ray, sneak attacks don’t work if you yell it out loud.

I am a roleplayer with anxiety
I swear I don’t ignore you, our threads, asks, meme posts and starters. I just get anxious.
I’m worried if I reply too fast you’ll think I’m desperate but if I reply too slow you’ll think I’m uninterested.
I’m worried if I don’t send memes you think I use you as a meme archive but if I do I’m annoying.
I’m worried not getting asks makes me hated but getting too many makes me a narcassist.
I’m worried that everything I do is wrong or not good enough and I am so sorry.
