“Okay,” Ray held up a hand. “No hospitals. I’ll take you back to my place. You’ll be safe there.” He turned off the main road and back towards his place. When they arrived, he immediately turned the car off and ran to help her from the car. “Do you want me to carry you again, or are you okay walking?” He asked, holding out a hand for her.
Tom could tell something was wrong. “Hey, are you okay?” He looked at the girl in the eyes, and he felt a connection. She was hurting, and he wanted to help. He hoped she would let him.
Wait, what?!? Ray thought, his eyes snapping to Amelia and back to Oliver. “What do you mean?” His voice cracked, causing him to swallow in order to clear things up. The heart rate monitor began beeping a little bit faster as Ray’s heartbeat rose. “Wait, don’t answer that. I want to hear it from her.” His eyes dropped from Oliver, and he found himself looking at his bruised & battered arms. How could he let this happen when there was someone at home waiting for him to come home safe?
“Is it too forward for me to ask you to stay the night with me?” Stefan asked, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. His hands lingered on her cheek, his thumb stroking her cheek.
“And why would it be too forward, hm? I’ll tell Jeremy, he has the place to himself, tonight.” She looked up at him. “I’m just glad we can be ourselves again without the doppelgänger prophecy crap going on.” Elena admitted.
“It has been a while since we have been together and I am sorry for all pain I’ve caused you.”
“It might be too forward because of everything that’s happened. I wanted to make sure you were okay with it. I didn’t want to overstep any boundaries,” Stefan said, dropping his hand from Elena’s cheek and finding her hand. “I want you to have choices, Elena.” He intertwined his fingers with hers as he spoke. “Too many choices have been made for you, and for that I’m so sorry.”
Barry sighed and leaned his head on top of Caitlin’s. “Thanks, Cait. I really needed to hear that.” He placed a small kiss on top of her head before laying his head on hers again.
She smiled, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. “Hey, where are friends for, right?” Caitlin knew, he was still afraid but that was okay. “Shall we go to Jitters? Try and distract ourselves for a moment?”
Barry nodded slowly. “Yeah, that’d be good. Jitters sounds great,” he smiled. Barry was gone in a flash, and just as quickly, he was back and changed. “Ready?”
She chuckled. “Ready.”
Caitlin quickly changed from sneakers to heels. “So, what about a Caramel Machiatto, hm? With whipped cream?”
“Hmm. I don’t know what I’m feelin’ just yet. I’ll see when we get there.” Barry couldn’t shake what had happened earlier, but he also didn’t want to talk about it. “Maybe wanna watch a movie at my place later? I have popcorn,” he chuckled as they walked out to the parking lot.
As Ray gazed at the picture, a searing pain pierced his skull. Memories flashed before his eyes of his sister. His sister. Oh, the memories filled Ray with an immense amount of adoration and joy. “Grace,” he breathed. “I still don’t understand. When I left the timeline, I didn’t have a sister.”
Ray glanced between all those in the room. “I mean, not that I’m not happy to have a sister now.” He blurted out quickly thereafter. “How is this possible?” He muttered, walking slowly to a chair, using the railing for support as he stumbled and fell into the chair.
She smiled weakly, when she saw he did recognized her but as it continued, she lost hope again.
Shaking her head, Grace looked at him. “I don’t know.”
Sara looked at the two. “Did something happen we did, to change the current timeline? Since it is the only thing I know, that could’ve happened.”
Ray blinked at his sister, and then looked to Sara. “Maybe when we saved my younger self? Maybe?” Ray leaned his head into his hands as memories continued to flood back in the most painful way. “Memories are coming back to me, but at the same time I don’t remember.” He looked up at his sister, adoration and love in his eyes. “Gracie, I’m sorry. It’s so much to take in. We’ll figure it out, though.”
Sars shrugged “It is possible.” Smiling at Grace, she thought “You could be a great Legendx though?”
Grace looked at her brother “Is that possible? I mean… Can I?”
Rubbing his eyes, Ray spoke up. “Grace, I can’t put you in that kind of danger. I wouldn’t forgive myself if anything ever happened to you.” He was glad his headache was suddenly gone, and he stood and walked to his sister. “I only do it because I have my suit to protect me. I’m still human. I still get hurt. That’s no place for my little sister.” He wrapped her in a hug before continuing. “I remember. Everything. I remember.”
