4 – Late night text

{Lisa}: Hey, not sure if your asleep or not yet…

{Lisa}: I know you said to either text or portal over if I had trouble sleeping. 

{Lisa}: Well I haven’t slept much at all the past three nights, I didn’t say anything because

{Lisa}: I’m stubborn so what else would you expect? 

Cisco just about dropped his phone on his face as Lisa suddenly appeared in his Living room. He quickly grabbed a blanket and sat up, covering his favorite pair of pajamas as he looked over the back of the couch at the woman. “Lisa, I would never laugh  at  you, only  with  you,” he replied.

Lisa laughs a little as Cisco almost drops his phone on his face. “Wow you covered up fast. Now I really want to see what it looks like.” She says with a smirk. “I’ll only laugh with you too. So are you ready to see because I know I am.” Lisa says as she fiddles with the opening of the trench coat enough so he could see it was a a knee length night dress.

A smile spreads across his face as Lisa revealed her choice of PJs. “I was going to hide and jump out, but you were just too fast,” he laughed. “Hey, if you’re comfortable in it, that’s all that matters. I like it.”
“Now, are you ready? These PJs are only for special occasions such as this.” Cisco said with a grin, glad he’d gotten changed earlier and wasn’t just wearing his boxers. He dramatically flung the blanket off and stood up, holding his best 10th Doctor pose, wearing a onesie of the signature look of his favorite character. “Eh? Eh?” He gestured, very proud of himself.

Peter took a sip of his beer. “Well, there are these things called batteries,” he replied sarcastically. “You just open up this thing,” he said, pointing to the compartment where the batteries were kept, “and you put them in. And then, boom. They play music.” He pressed the play button, and music flowed out of his headphones. “Hooked on a Feeling. Blue Swede. 1974.”

Cisco rolled his eyes at the other. “I get that. But all technology needs upgrades from time to time, even something that takes batteries.” He sat back and listened to the classic song as he threw back the last of his drink.

Please do not be afraid of moving the story along. What I mean by that is it’s OK for you to get an idea from what I’ve written and take the plot into a new direction or to enhance the old. If you’re nervous, or afraid, that you’ll upset me, you can always send me a message to check if it’s OK to do the thing.

I play with you, because I want to, and I trust your creative instincts. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be doing threads with you, plotting with you in asks and on Skype. If we’re playing, I want us to be equals, and I don’t want you to take a backseat to me.

I need you to share the story with me. Think about it like Pacific Rim.

RP is a partnership. If you don’t work with your partner, you can’t move the big damn robot. You can’t save the world from the giant monsters, and you cannot tell a story. If only one half of the partnership is moving, the robot will walk in circles, get tired and break down. You’ll lose the partnership, and the story will die.

Don’t let this happen. Be a partner. Tell the story together.
