“You and your little powers. I need them.” This was madness, brought about by despair. Ldn wasn’t even sure what Cisco’s powers could do. But if there was any possible chance of someone seeing Lisa, he would take it. “I need you to ‘vibe’ Lisa.”

“You can’t just expect me to lend you my pow-” Cisco’s voice cut out at Lisa’s name. “What? Len, I can’t face Lisa, not after what I did. How do you expect me to vibe her after the vibe off you was so strong? It’s just going to be more guilt that I really don’t need right now. I’m sorry, I can’t.”

Hartley sighed louder, looking very childlike and was about to open his mouth to retort before Cisco reached out and tucked some of his hair behind his ear, brushing against the bandages. Hartley stiffened, the change happening drastically and quickly. His body seemed to lock down, his muscles flexed and was poised to spring at any moment. He looked terrified. “Please don’t hurt me,” he squeaked out softly.

Cisco withdrew his hand as the man tensed up. “Why would I hurt you, mi amor?” He asked, his head cocked to the side. “Yo nunca haría eso

,” the spanish rolled of his tongue effortlessly as his hand found Hartley’s.

Hartley frowned, clearly not pleased with being pressured to eat. He sighed, though, peeking his head up again. “If I eat will you say that you love me?”

“Yes.” Cisco smiled. “I’ll say it even if you don’t eat, but I’d really like it if you ate. You can’t starve yourself when you need to heal. If you don’t want soup I can go raid the kitchen for other food.” He laughed, tucking his hair behind his ear.

“Yeah? Which one? Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite. I do so enjoy a good jail break story,” Len quipped, though his voice didn’t have it’s usual sarcastic drawl. He watched Cisco for a moment. “I need you to do somethin’ for me.”

@fransciscoramon

Cisco raised an eyebrow, skeptical of the man who always had a sarcastic tone, yet it was absent now. “I’m on Goblet of Fire right now.” He stuck his bookmark in the book and set it down. “I knew there was something behind this. I heard it in your voice. What is it, Snart?”

Hartley sat up further, the blankets shifting so that Cisco could see that Cisco’s shirt and pillow were what he had been clinging to. “I don’t wanna eat,” he whined softly, hoping that if he sounded pitiful enough that Cisco wouldn’t force him to. “I just sorta want to hear it. What you said before.” Hartley flushed, the thought driving him back into his ball of blankets and Cisco’s items.

Cisco smiled at the pillow and shirt he’d given Len. It was really great knowing he went through and gave the things to Hart. As he retreated into the blankets once more, he set the soup to the side and kicked off his shoes before moving closer to the man. “You need to eat, love. You can’t heal if you don’t nourish your body.” He cooed, rubbing circles on Hartley’s back.

Since talking to Cisco at the Big Belly Burger, Len had had one thought on his mind; Cisco’s powers. He didn’t care that the kid had them. Just that he was undisciplined and had nearly taken out a whole city because he was just an emotional little mess.

But now…Cisco didn’t just cause earthquakes. He could see things. Visions. Len wanted him to try to reach Lisa.. To see how she was doing. See if maybe she could wake up. He thought about it for days, then stalked Cisco for a few days, until he saw a good opening, when Cisco was half-distracted by a book.

Len slid up beside him. “Hey Cisco, whatcha doin’?”

Cisco hardly unburied his nose from the book when he heard the man’s voice, immediately recognizing it. “Re-reading Harry Potter, why?” He said in an unamused voice. Cisco absolutely hated it when people interrupted his quiet reading time. The time he could escape from the real world and delve into another story.

Hartley gave him a weak smile. “It’s why I told you that I could help you. It’s just. I haven’t found anything about my powers that are worth it. And even if I didn’t have the tinnitus, I’d still hear the screaming of the 17 people that I killed and all of those that were hurt or killed by those affected by project every day. At least with my tinnitus I can pretend I don’t hear them.” Hartley looked down.

“You’ll get it. You may not have discovered all these powers just yet.” Cisco said with a reassuring smile. “Here, you should eat.” He muttered, opening the soup for the man. He just wanted to see the man he’d fallen for smile. Even with all this pain, he just wanted to bring some happiness to the situation.

“Yeah, I know that well Cisco.  We’re gonna figure this out though, okay? A way for your brain to rest a bit.  But we’re gonna try.  I’ll sleep over if you want me too Cisco, though I wasn’t planning on leaving you on your own anyways.”

Cisco let out a sigh, his drunken brain knowing that Barry wouldn’t let him get his way with staying up with his best friend. “Okay. I should warn you though, if ya run us home, er to my apartment, I might hurl.” He warned, getting a sour look on his face.

always-going-faster:

Barry’s expression had fallen to one of complete worry, the speedster quickly guiding his friend outside and towards home. “No.  She’s not coming over.  You’re getting home, and we can hang out, and then you’re gonna sleep.  I won’t leave or anything okay? If you start having a nightmare I’ll wake you up.  But you need sleep Cisco.”

“I haven’t slept fer more than 2-4 hours a night, Bar. Tonight won’t be any different. ‘s always broken up into little sections after the nightmare. M’ body naturally wake s’self up before I fall into the REM sleep.” Cisco said with a heavy sigh. “Do you wanna sleep over too?”

Hartley nodded, scratching at his scalp before wincing. “My tinnitus isn’t regular tinnitus. It’s the frequencies of the universe all coming together in one auditory screech like feedback from a mic. I hear ultrasonic and sub-radio frequencies. They put me on anti-psychotics when they removed my ear drums because I could still hear those frequencies despite hearing silence. Besides, the gauntlets won’t work the same for anyone else. It’s calibrated by hearing.”

“Oh.” Cisco said plainly, taking in the information as it came to him. He suddenly remembered a brief memory from his episode where Hartley mentioned this. “Gotcha. That’s actually super cool. Sucks that it affects your hearing, though. Maybe that means we’re meant to be.” Cisco smirked before letting the smile fall into a disgusted look. “Okay, that was way too cheesy, even for me. I brought soup and hot cider.” He grinned again, lifting the containers in his hands.
