Rick scoffed, getting his drink refilled,” You guys did blow up the city and created problems for me. Plus your boss killed my brother so, I might have some animosity for that.” He downed the drink quickly before rolling his head not interested in talking further on the subject.,he brought up. The drink might have, definitely was the factor that let his fact slip from his mouth. “ Anyhow son, have you played Call of Duty Advanced Warfare?”

“We didn’t blow up the city. Get your facts straight. There was an explosion that we contained so a minimal amount of civilians were harmed.” Cisco was getting frustrated, and he pulled his wallet out and laid the amount of his tab along with a decent tip on the counter under and empty glass. “I actually gotta go. I have a prior engagement.” Cisco lied, tucking hair behind his ear as he started away from the man. He knew if he continued to sit with this man, it might bring out the worst in him, and he wasn’t about to hurt anyone.

Hartley reached out, cupping Cisco’s cheek, still looking incredibly concerned. “Cisquito. Sit down.” He gently directed Cisco down to the couch. “Explain what just happened. Your eyes unfocused and your breathing was erratic. You truly don’t remember what happened with me, do you? I thought you were making fun of me.” Hartley’s hand had made its way automatically to Cisco’s knee without even thinking and rubbed his thumb in circles soothingly. “Tell me, Cisco. Tell me what you experienced. If you don’t remember what we shared then you have no reason to trust me. But please. Believe me. I lo–. I care about you. I want to help you. I can fill in the pieces of what you shared with me then and my hypothesis and we can work together. You’re brilliant. And I’m a genius. And you don’t remotely care about me so you don’t have to worry about me getting hurt. The… other… you… cared about me. But this way is better. I can help and then you can discard me and there’s no harm. But indulge me. Let me help.”

Cisco allowed the man to direct him to the couch, his body almost numb from the vibe. “Make fun of you? Why would I do that? I have no reason to hurt you like that, Hartley, and I wouldn’t do that even if I did!” He explained. Sure, he and Hartley never really got along, but that didn’t mean he wanted to harm the man in any way. “I don’t remember anything from the past few weeks. Nothing past finding my sister’s letter on my counter and calling a, um, friend to go help her.” He didn’t even flinch at the hand on his knee. It was a welcome touch. “We were…together. Cuddling. Drinking together. You were -” Cisco stopped, knowing Hartley probably knew what had happened. “I don’t really want to talk about hypotheses or my amnesia, to be completely honest. It’s just been a crazy few days, and I just want to get away from it.”

“I should but than again who is going to wrangle in all of you? I’m fine, mind you.” Caitlin said gently knowing if she believed that hard enough, he would believe it too. Her anxiety has simmered into a sleepless state, touch and go with everyday. Sleep agitated that feeling of falling, she grew tired of falling. “Don’t worry about me. I wasn’t the one who was in the pipeline.” She turned away from him, gathering the small, leather bound medical bag that she’d learned was less than a hassle to carry around with all the medical attention the people in her life needed. “Now Cisco I need you to tell me in detail, the last thing you remember.” With the finality of each snap of latex, she begun her examination.

“The last thing I remember? I remember reading a letter Violet left on the counter in my apartment and vibing off it. I called Len to go save her. I was upset with Barry at the time, and I felt so powerless to save her. I didn’t want to go save her and then cause more problems because I wasn’t in control. Hell, I don’t know if I’m in control now.” What he did know, however, was that staying calm would keep his powers at bay if he was out of control. Cisco reached up and rubbed his tired eyes as he watched Caitlin work. “Let me know if you need me to do anything, okay?”

“ Cisco Ramon, the youngest child, seeking the affection and acceptance your parents or parental figure.” He read a paraphrased bit of his ARGUS bio, compiled from observance and certain analysis infiltration of privacy. “  Abundantly smart, yet you still work in a blown up building for a disgraced company.” The man took a second to finish his drink,” You also make superb tech and fight Metahumans; through the proxy of the Flash.Rick Flagg, I’m with ARGUS.” He was confidant no one was listening, his phone on the table would disrupt security cameras and listening devices.

“What the frack?” Cisco blinked, whipping his head to glare at the man. “The building isn’t completely blown up, and the company isn’t disgraced. Also, not the youngest Ramon. Looks like your files aren’t completely up to date, huh, Flagg?” Cisco smirked, turning back to the bar.

Barry bit his tongue, still worried about his friend but not wanting to push any limits.  He’d hurt their relationship, and he didn’t want to push too many boundaries in case he messed it up any more.  “I, wait, are you sure?  I wouldn’t want to bother you if you want to be alone.”  Babysitting didn’t even cross his mind, the speedster only brightening a bit at the idea Cisco wanted to hang out with him.

“Yeah. Having you there would actually be kind of, um, helpful? I mean, I’d feel more comfortable with you there. I plan on drinking to the point of hilarity, and I’m sure you could use some entertainment,” Cisco laughed. He’d missed his best friend.

“So you don’t usually do this then, makes sense.” Lian chuckled with a soft smile as she leaned against the bar and talked to him while she had no more customers at the moment. “The name is Lian Harper, but Lian works fine.”

“Yeah, I typically stick to hard ciders while I watch my favorite movies or shows.” Cisco shrugged. “It’s been a rough few weeks, and I figured I deserved some decent alcohol.” He chuckled. “Lian is a beautiful name.”

“I’m tired. I haven’t gotten much sleep lately,” it wasn’t a lie. She hadn’t slept at all in the last few weeks. Although, it wasn’t what plagued her. Everyone she cared about either walked away in a fit of rage or heroics. No one every stayed and she was tired of mourning the loss of each person. Caitlin would rather stop caring than deal with the misery of betrayal. “How’s your head?” She questioned once their tedious journey started to dwindle. The gurney styled for waiting for him to rest in while she ran some tests.

“You should really sleep, Cait. No sleep will just make everything worse.” Cisco was being such a hypocrite. He rarely slept regularly, and that’s what led to all of this. The earthquake, the rogue episode. It just got worse and worse as the episode went on. He ignored sleep, and the tranq dart Oliver shot him with was what Cisco needed to reset his system. “My head is fine, I’m just worried about you.” Cisco said, getting himself up on the gurney. However, he lied about his head. It felt like it was splitting down the middle. That didn’t matter to him, though.

Hartley’s face was permanently stuck in a shocked expression. From the sudden outburst to being pinned to the wall to suddenly Cisco looking like he was having some sort of stroke or seizure or something. It took him a few seconds for Hartley to actually process before grabbing at his collar and rubbing his neck, still looking much like a deer in the headlights. “Cisco,” he finally croaked out before clearing his throat and trying again. “Cisco, what’s going on?” His voice was low and a bit pleading, the concern and confusion in his face and the slump in his posture making his body language resemble more like a submissive dog than human. He wanted to reach out but stopped himself. “Cisco, I can help you,” he pleaded. “Is this about the darkness? I was looking into the possible cure I told you about before. I think it could work.”

Cisco brought a hand to his head as he tried to fully take in what he’d just vibed. “Nothing. It’s nothing, Hartley.” Cisco said, dropping his hand as he crossed to the kitchen and filled a glass with water before downing it. He cocked his head to the side as he finished. “Help me? Help me with what? There’s nothing to cure. What is this darkness?” Cisco noticed in the vibe he was acting differently. Could that be what Hartley is talking about? He had no idea. He brought his hand back up to his forehead and massaged his temples as the vibe flashed through his mind again.
