“Oh. but you see the mayor and governor are close personal friends of mine and support my meta-registration act. They recognize the dangers metas pose. No matter what side they claim to be on.”

“Like I said, this isn’t your city to fix, dude. I can tell you aren’t from around here. Why come now? Just to solve this non-existant problem to better your self-image? I reccommend you leave before you get hurt.”

“You’re right. I don’t know you, but I do know your doppelganger.” Reverb had always been a pain in the butt. Now he was having to deal with someone of a similar personality – who probably also learned of his abilities. “But I do know you were once a proud member of Team Flash. I’m not exactly sure why you decided to go rogue, but here you are.” He’s not making any sudden movements. He had no way to counteract the blasts if they come. “There’s a problem, Cisco. And rather or not you guys decide to team back up is my business. The breaches opened your Earth to a very, powerful and dangerous speedster by the name of Zoom. Perhaps you’ve had visions of him.”

“Zoom? Yeah, whatever. The big, scary baddie is out to get us all, huh?” Cisco said with a laugh. “Nice try, but no. This is just a scheme to try and get me to be good again, and I’m not falling for it.” Cisco said sternly, sticking his hands out and sending vibrations out towards the man.

“Stay out of my way.”

“Bivolo?” Caitlin questioned softly. Oliver had filled her in on his latest identity crisis, she wouldn’t fall into his trap. “Barry isn’t here. It’s just me and Jay. Well Jay isn’t here but he’s here. How are you feeling?”

“Fine, I guess. Any chance you could come look at my shoulder? Oliver shot me and it feels like someone is stabbing me everytime I move.” Cisco sighed, leaning against the wall. He just wanted to be back at his apartment, where nobody would bother him.

Carter glared at him. Granted his feelings for the young man hadn’t changed all that much from the first time they’d met, but he could tell that something was wrong with him. He knew that there were barriers between them as far as politeness went, but this seemed vaguely bordering on insulting.

He holstered his mace for the time being, wondering what was going on and hoping that it wouldn’t interfere with his own life anymore than it needed to.

“Fine. Why are you here Cisco” he stated defensively, honestly not having anytime for whatever it was he was going on about.

“Does it really matter, Carter? I honestly don’t know why you’re asking. We both know why I’m here. You took Kendra away. When I needed her most.” Cisco stuck his hand out and sent vibrations toward the man.

He blinked his eyes open to see the blue interior of one of the cells at STAR Labs. “What the Hell? Barry? Caitlin? Oliver? Anyone there?”

Barry stood with his hands in his pockets outside Cisco’s cell, hating that this was even a situation at all.  This was Cisco. It could have been argued that he was the more heroic of all of them, always striving to use his intelligence and gifts for good.  Yet here he was, locked in the pipeline after seeming to go completely off the deep end. He was thankful to not being the one to actually have to lock him up, but Barry did intend to try and figure out what had happened to make Cisco do this.

Glancing up from his thoughts when Cisco spoke, Barry sighed, the sorrow and worry easy to see in his gaze.  “I’m right here.  Didn’t want you to wake up alone.”

“Barry? Thank God! What happened? I don’t remember much of anything.” Cisco sat up with a groan, feeling the pain pierce through his shoulder. “Any chance you could let me outta here? There’s no reason for me to be in a cage,” He laughed, one arm limp at his aide and the other holding his shoulder.

Hartley shrugged. Reaching up and adjusting his glasses. “I don’t know. I don’t actually think I’m drunk.” Hartley sighed. “I guess I should ask whether you’re a villain now or what. I mean, that’s extremely attractive. But. I’m just curious, you know?” Hartley looked down at the floor, reaching over and lightly resting a hand on Cisco’s thigh, feeling oddly cuddly for some reason. “You’re a lot different than before.”

“Villian? That’s debateable. I don’t kill. I just aim to hurt at this point.” Cisco glanced at the man from head-to-toe. “You’re probably drunk this is your first rodeo, after all. I guess I’m a villian. That’s what I’m going for, anyway.” Cisco felt a hand on this thigh and took it into his own, intertwining their fingers. “I’m aware, as are you. Hartley.”

rathawayxhartley:

Hartley felt his stomach flutter when he felt Cisco close the gap. Hartley breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed completely, his grip on Cisco’s shoulders loosening to tangle up in his hair. “I had a couple dreams that ended up like this,” he murmured, too happy to care enough to separate their lips in order for his speech to come out clearly. His smile made it hard to even kiss properly and he pulled back. “I hope you understand what you’ve done, Cisquito,” he whispered, his smile turning somewhat bittersweet. “I warned you not to make me fall in love with you. You know it happens in a flash and it never ends well.”

“Oh, I know all too well what I just got myself into.” Cisco smiled, watching the other’s eyes. Cisco knew he shouldn’t get attatched. He was a mess, and he was suprised Hartley could even stand being around him. He couldn’t grow too fond of this man – it would only end in heartbreak. “Now what?” He grinned, cocking his head to the side.

“Movies always grossly overplay drunkenness, Hartley.” Cisco laughed, leaning back into the couch, preparing himself to sit though whatever the other was about to ramble on about. “Okay, yeah. I didn’t make them for the rogues. Snart stole that. But yes, I made it for protection against any speedster we were to come up against, and I didn’t really know how Barry was going to turn out. He obviously turned good, so I modified some things to protect The Flash from the cold gun. Anything else?”

“Scientifically speaking, last I checked scientists are still trying to figure out how to reach absolute zero quickly and organically. So anyone figuring out how to accomplish absolute zero would be a BIG FUCKING DEAL to the science community. It could revolutionize a lot of things including nuclear energy.
You did not just figure out absolute zero, though. You were able to do so with a device a person could hold in their hands…. And weaponized it. That’s a lot to do in the what, NINE MONTHS Barry was in a coma?
That’s like years, possibly decades of scientific research and discovery (if not centuries) achieved in MONTHS.
And all you did is turn it into a handheld weapon and did NOTHING ELSE with it. Didn’t even let the scientific community know what you did.
If I was a scientist (which I am) and one of my (former) lab coworkers did that, I’d probably grab them by the shoulders and start shaking them while screaming ‘YOU IDIOT!’ Now, because I’m all of those things, I now have the opportunity to do just that.” Hartley leaned over, grabbing Cisco’s shoulders but instead of shaking him, he leaned in closer. “You’re the smartest idiot I’ve ever met,” he murmured, their noses inches from each other.

Hartley barely took a breath, and Cisco was quite amused by the man’s ramblings. As Hartley grabbed his shoulders, Cisco let a genuine smile spread across his lips. “I’ve invented much more than you know. Things beyond today’s scientific understanding. I don’t show them because I don’t want to be the next Harrison Wells. Not yet anyway.” He rambled back before the man leaned in. “You know, you’re not too bad yourself.” He felt Hartley’s breath hot against his lips, and he slowly closed the gap between their lips.

rathawayxhartley:

Hartley sighed, continuing to drink the cider. “The only stupid thing that I could see myself doing would be sleeping with you tonight, to be honest. Am I supposed to feel different? The movies grossly overplayed this ‘drunkness thing’. Hey, I do have something I could ramble about though. I heard that you created the Rogues’ weapons? The Cold Gun. And that it originally was a weapon against a speedster. Or Barry, right? To protect against Barry.”
