The Walls of my Town (Come Crumbling Down) || Cisco and Eobard

Eobard sighed, short and sharp, and gathered up his makeshift cane again. He doubted Excedrin was on the list of things Caitlin meant to limit, but he wasn’t going to push Cisco any further today. The boy already seemed off, like he was distancing himself from what’s happened. Unhealthy in the long run, yet the best short-term solution they had. “Be sure you do. If you need anything from me…” Already he wasn’t sure if this was a promise he even intended to keep. “…you’ve earned anything I can give.”

“I know. You’re just a phone call or text away.” Cisco said, bopping his head from side to side. “You may think I have earned it, but I sure as hell don’t deserve it.” He muttered as he gathered his belongings and headed out. “Hey, you be safe too, okay? Don’t go out hurt that knee of yours anymore. Call me if you need help to, the phone works both ways.” He smiled before turning the corner and going on his way.

Well, this is impressive. If he didn’t know better, he would have been sure this was Reverb. Still, there are minor differences. Like the fact Reverb would have been trying to kill him.  “The breaches.” Cisco isn’t stupid. He knows what he means. “Cisco Ramon. I have to say, I expected this kind of behavior from your doppelganger – but not from you.”

“You don’t know me blondie, don’t act like you do.” Cisco scoffed. “I assume you know what I can do then?” He said, his hands hovering at his sides, ready to blast this stranger out of his way.

“Sorry, Lis. That is reserved for those who actually like me.” Cisco quipped, a little part of him hoping Lisa would come around. “I guess I’ll see ya later then.” He said, slipping his goggles on and turning around to walk away. “Catch you on the flip side, Lisa.”

Lisa couldn’t believe what she was hearing as she turned from him. It hurt her deeper than it should have. The one thing he had never questioned was her feelings for him. After all she made them very clear. She loved him and would always love him but right now she needed to get away before she did something she regretted-mostly cry in front of him.

She didn’t stop her stride at his cruel words as she hurried away. Now it was time to return to old coping habits as the tears that were rapidly coming. Fuck, she hated this. She missed the days when her feels weren’t hurt and she didn’t try to love. She would give anything not to feel right now, she forgot how bad a broken heart could feel. There were so few she let in and just about everyone of them had hurt her. Time to go back to the old ways, which hurt since she seemed her evolution to a neutral and morally gray person would be the best thing for her. Apparently, it was not.

Hartley frowned, accepting the bottle gruffly and popping off the top. “That’s not even the fun kind of squirming, Cisco. I thought this new dark you could understand that.” Hartley squeezed his eyes shut as he drank a sip of the cider, feeling the previous alcohol hitting him. “You realize that if you get me drunk you have to take care of me until I’m sober, right?”

“Oh I’m very aware. I’m intrigued what shenanigans a drunk Hartley might get into.” Cisco said with a dark but playful smile. “I’ll make sure you don’t do anything stupid, okay?”

Caitlin watched the monitors hoping the city could stay placid for the day just so she could get a handle on her fragmented team. Barry had raced off in a dash to heal his broken heart and fuel his self loathing. Cisco laid inside the impenetrable cell, trying to fight the demons that hide just beneath his skin. Jay hadn’t come back yet; leaving Caitlin alone with her thoughts.

The com picked up the settle rustling just before his voice broke the silence. “It’s okay, Cisco. You’re safe,” her voice soothed through the mic. Looks were deceiving, she refused to be doped once more.

Cisco sighed when he heard his friend’s voice. “Caitlin? Oh, Cait! I’m so glad to hear your voice! How did I get here? Where is everyone? Last thing I was in an alley, I saw Bivolo and then Oliver, then everything went dark.”

Cisco’s head rolled to the side as he started coming to. All he could remember was Oliver in an alleyway and then a sharp pain in his shoulder, then nothingness. He was remembering the should pain again, as it ebbed him from his unconscious state.

He blinked his eyes open to see the blue interior of one of the cells at STAR Labs. “What the Hell? Barry? Caitlin? Oliver? Anyone there?”

Hartley grumbled under his breath, angrily fluffing his hair and turning on his heel, plopping down on the couch indignantly. “I don’t appreciate you making fun of me,” he muttered sourly.

Cisco laughed under his breath as he reached in the fridge and pulled a cider out. He walked over to the couch and sat gingerly next to Hartley. “It’s funny seeing you squirm. Sorry not sorry, bud. Here.” He said, holding the bottle out.

Hartley shrugged, puffing himself up and frowning. “I’m not cute,” he grumbled, grabbing the glass and downing it quickly, the burning almost knocking him back on his ass with coughing. Hartley’s face beet red between the coughing and sputtering. “What the hell was that?!” He spit out. “That tasted absolutely repugnant. Why would you ever drink that?” Hartley wiped his lips and put the glass back down on the counter. “It feels like I drank nuclear waste and it’s boiling the contents of my stomach.”

Cisco smiled as he sipped his own drink. “You said you wanted the hardest. I gave you the best vodka I had straight. First of all, its usually an aquired taste. Second, You don’t drink for the taste of the drink. You drink to get drunk if you’re drinking vodka straight. I think you’re more of a long island iced tea kind of guy.” He said with a smirk. “Would you prefer a cider? It’s like spiked apple juice. Easier on your delicate palate, lindo.”
