Well at least Cisco was still sort of thinking. Len wasn’t sure the kid quite got why he was wary though. He looked around at the mess that Cisco had left behind him. “Just how dangerous are you? What are your powers and skills?”

Fair question to ask. Knowing Cisco as he was before, there would be no problems accepting him into the Rogues. Cisco as he appeared now…Len wasn’t so sure. If Cisco was unstable, that wasn’t good. He couldn’t risk having that on his team.

“You know I’m a mechanical engineer. I make tech. Any kind of tech. You name it, I can built it. But those are just my credentials. If we’re talking powers, that’s a whole different thing. I vibe off people. Touch them, get a sense of what they’re feeling, what they’re going through, and some other crap. Still exploring that. I can also send vibrations out of my hands and feet and the amount of energy I put behind it determines how strong it is. The little vibrations you felt under your feet? That was hardly a sneak peek as to what I can do. The earthquake was me, but it was a mistake. I lost control. I had some power-dampening wristbands, but I left those behind. I’m in control now. I know what I’m capable of and how to control it all. I can do this.” Cisco said, shoving his hands in his pockets and scanning Len’s face.

Violet’s face fell. “You weren’t planning on saying goodbye?” Her voice soft. “Everyone is leaving at once.”

“It’s only for a day or so. I didn’t think you would notice. I just need to gain control.” Cisco reached up and took off the glasses, folding them up and sliding them into his sweatshirt pocket. “I can’t train here, I can’t work on gaining control in such a densely populated area. I can’t be the cause of another disaster.” He paused, taking a step toward his sister. “You help me stay grounded. I’m doing this so you can be safe, Violet. That being said, I know that there is something else going on, and I can’t control that part. That’s why I couldn’t say goodbye. I was emotional, and that makes everything worse.”

Hartley suddenly cocked his head, his expression different. “You got powers too, didn’t you? I can hear the frequency.” The sneer was no longer present and he regarded Cisco curiously. “It comes from your palms?” Hartley held up his hands to signal that he meant no harm as he stepped a bit closer. “It’s not quite sonic, is it. There’s definitely energy that is radiating. And it’s making an interesting phonation but it’s not directly a sound wave.”

“Not just from my palms, feet too.” Cisco said, taking a step back, despite Hartley obviously meaning no harm. “Vibrations, idiota. They’re vibrations. I can see through the vibrations of the universe, through timelines. I never wanted this.” He sighed, taking yet another step back. Cisco knew exactly what he was capable of, and even though he wasn’t a fan of Hartley, he wasn’t going to purposely cause harm to the man.

Violet wished that it was because of some technical prowess that she found her brother but it was just dumb luck. She followed the sounds of destruction hoping that it would be someone interesting and instead was faced with a decidedly crazier version of her brother. “Cisco, are you fucking kidding me right now? At least Barry still responds to my text messages even though both of you are pushing me away in the same way for the same reason. What the hell are you doing terrorizing the city?”

“I’m not terrorizing the city, I’m just taking out the trash. You do realize that we are in an alleyway, and I’m am not hurting a single soul? I’m on my way out of town, and I suggest you don’t stop me.” Cisco said, turning to his sister with his arms hovering near his sides. “I’m not stable right now, you really shouldn’t be around me.”

“I’m checking in on Harrison. And I’m checking up on you. My therapist says that I should reconnect. And I’d just like to point out that I have never claimed to be a good person or a hero. So my ego would have nothing to do with being a good guy.” Hartley followed Cisco, keeping his distance slightly. “You know, I don’t completely hate you anymore. Now that you’re not Harrison’s chosen one I suppose I can see your homely charms.”

“Well, maybe you should go back to that therapist. I don’t think you’ve had enough sessions.” Cisco quipped, trying to ignore the man’s degrading comments. “Is that so? I don’t believe that for a second!” Cisco uncrossed his arms and let them hover by his sides with his palms facing forward as he turned to face the other man. He felt the energy surging through his body. “Harrison never had a ‘chosen one’.”

“It’s ok, Sunny, relax.” She assured him. “I know what that’s like, to feel that darkness.”

And she did, she didn’t fear him but she worried for him. To see her light diminish before her was breaking her heart.

“You said you needed me and I’m here. What can I do to help you?”

This was the only other person she would let her walls down and truly cared about. It was clear he was needed help.

“I need you to help me decide what to do next. Do I leave town and abandon everyone that’s ever gotten close to me? Do I embrace these powers and patrol the streets? How am I going to use my mechanical engineering skills? I can’t let those waste away.” He sighed with a lost look in his eyes. He had no clue where to go.

“I need you.” Cisco said before wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her close.

The mini earthquake under his feet alarmed him. Cisco’s powers were dangerous enough that Len was pretty sure he wasn’t getting out of this without at least one new bruise.

“So what’s your plan, Vibe?” Len asked. “Destroy things? Make people afraid of you? Kill a few people? You gonna go rob some banks like the Rogues?”

He’d tried to recruit Cisco before. Back when Cisco was a ball of sunshine and his sweetness would have been a pleasure to have in the crew. This Cisco, however, was a different story.

Cisco smirked at Len’s reaction to the vibrations. “No, I was actually on my way out of town for a few days. I gotta get out of here. I’m still too dangerous. Things aren’t in control. I won’t hurt anyone, Snart. You know that. Just because I seem a little uh, darker, doesn’t mean I’ve lost my conscience. I’m not a monster.” He paused, taking off his sunglasses to look the man in the eye. “I don’t intend on hurting anybody, but I know you guys have been looking for a techie. I’m your guy, Snart.”

The confession blew her away, she knew he had powers but not that they had become so strong. He must have been repressing a hell of a lot to have that kind of repercussions. “My poor little Sunshine…you must have been dealing with a hell of a lot to take down the town like that. But talk to me, what did you see? You know I’m here for you. I can help you but you’ve gotta tell me everything.”

“What I saw isn’t relevant. I don’t even know what I saw.” He sighed, scanning her face for any sign of fear. “I just know that I can’t hold back these emotions any longer. I have to release this, this….darkness that is inside me”

“Last I heard, your name was Cisco,” Len returned cooly. He didn’t mind attitude, but he didn’t like it coming off the younger man. “You are destroying property, drawing attention to yourself, and you’re gonna end up hurting someone. Your sister just texted me. She thinks something is wrong with you. And I’d say she’s probably right.”

“Nothing is wrong with me, Snart. I’m just embracing my powers for the first time in a while.” Cisco said, narrowing his eyes at the man behind the frames. “It’s Vibe, and don’t bring her into this.” He sneered, sending a few warning vibrations through the ground towards Len.

Len had a lot on  his mind. His dad was still at large. Lisa had been acting oddly, and had run off unexpectedly on mysterious errands at least twice. Eobard also had things on his mind. Not that he’d opened up about it, and Len hadn’t pushed. Yet.

The only one in his life who hadn’t really changed much was Mick, but Mick was busy at the moment. Lots of animals displaced or orphaned by the quake meant Mick was working over-time with rescues, home groups and other people to find, rescue and return lost pets, or find them new homes.

So Len was left to his own devices for now. He was off the pain meds, and if he was good, in about five days he’d get the stitches out. As he walked down the street he became aware of. Well a lot of noise. He paused and stared at the young man walking down the street. The face was familiar, even behind the sunglasses. The odd smile on his face was not, however. And these new powers were definitely not something Len had been aware of. Ok then.

Len patted his cold gun, plastered a smug grin on his face, and wandered across the street to join young Cisco. “What do we have here? Cisco Ramon acting like a hoodlum. This is a surprise.” Len’s smile sharpened. “Just what do you think you’re doing, kid?”

“Hoodlum? I’m no hoodlum, Snart. I’m also not a kid. I have a name, and it’s Vibe.” Cisco stated, sauntering closer to the man, arms hovering by his sides, with palms facing forward. “What are you doing out this late, don’t you have jewelry stores to be robbing or something?” He watched the man behind the dark frames for any sign of movement. He wasn’t about to get his ass froze because he wasn’t paying attention.
