Office Call: Cisco/Helena

Helena cupped his cheek and kissed him a bit deeper, trying to go back to how she was a bit before her breakdown. “You’re the sweetest man alive,” she murmured. The alive part was true. Cisco would have been a runner up to Michael if they were alive at the same time.

As they kissed, his hand dropped from where it was tangled in his dark hair. It quickly found its way to the small of her back, where he pulled her body closer to his. He grinned against her lips as the compliment trickled from her mouth. He broke the kiss without a word and flicked the lights off as he lead her by the hand down the hallway to the bedroom. He kicked the door shut as they entered, keeping the lights off so their eyes could adjust.

Lisa smiled. “No, you get the bed, you’re hurt. I will stay on the couch.”

It was odd for her to feel compassion for anyone. But Cisco was different from anyone she ever met. Maybe that was why she took a shine to him and wanted to help him right now. He was good and pure, something she could never be. Maybe she wanted to help him stay that way.

“Lead the way, if you can. I promise I won’t use it against you either. Unless you piss me off in the future, then I’m breaking in and erasing your DVR or something.”

“I’m fine on the couch, really. Just let me be a gentleman, would you?” He sighed with a smile on his face.
He didn’t know why he was smiling. He normally switched between a scowl and a neutral face with Lisa, but now that she was truly caring what happened to him, his heart fluttered as he walked beside the woman.
“Oh my God, if you touch my DVR, I will find you and take away your gold gun. You will not take away all my TV shows I have to binge watch.” He smiled, poking the woman playfully in the side and he opened the door to his apartment for her. “Welcome to my humble abode.”

“I can’t nap if Lisa is missing,” Len protested. He should be doing something to help. He didn’t have the foggiest idea what he could accomplish, but it was wrong to think of rest, no matter how badly he needed it.

“Just run the tests. I’ll find out if anyone besides the usual suspects are after me. an’ Lisa.”

Len
slumped into a chair next to Cisco’s desk, and stared at the phone. He
had plenty of contacts, but he couldn’t remember their phone numbers.
And it was dawning on him that he may not have anyone to trust. Just
because he used them for information didn’t mean they couldn’t be
bought. If he started asking around, he might get fed false information.
Or someone could report it to whoever was after him. Or..

Cisco
was probably the only person he could trust right now. He would just
have to wait before he could do anything else. After a few moments, he
folded his arms and rested his head on them. That was better…

Suddenly he jerked up right. “What if the rest of the team shows up?” he asked. He hadn’t really thought about it. He just knew that the one person he could absolutely trust about Lisa was at S.T.A.R. Labs. “I can’t spend my day arguing with them.”

Because they would probably want to fight, not talk. Len didn’t have the energy or time to waste on the do-gooders. He rubbed his aching head. He really needed the rest, but it was too hard to trust that things wouldn’t go sideways. “You have to keep them away.”

“It’s the weekend. Nobody usually comes in on the weekend. I’m only here because I had a…special project that I’m working on.” Cisco said, remembering the wheelchair that he practically shoved into the other room. “They won’t come. They have lives, unlike myself.” He said with a sad laugh. He continued to take apart the gun, taking out whatever vial of liquid was in the gun and taking it to another computer. He set the computer up to run a number of different tests and walked back over to the man.

“You know, if you are even going to attempt to sleep, you’re not supposed to expose yourself to electronic screens. They emit a blue light that keeps your brain engaged, keeping you from falling asleep.” He grinned, swiping the man’s phone from his hands and sticking it in his pocket. “Now go sleep. It won’t do anyone – especially Lisa- any good if you’re not on your A game. The cot is just through that glass door.” He said, pointing to the med bay. Cisco could tell that Len wasn’t himself. Len was usually very witty and snarky, and this was not right, He knew this gun was bad, and he needed to get to the bottom of who made it. Those painted parts – where had he seen that before? He sat back down at his desk and began to wrack his brain. He looked back over at Len who hadn’t moved yet. “Dude. Go.”

laureltheblackcanary:

“I’m really shocked no one has taught you how to stay vigilant when on patrol.” She shrugged. “I can’t say much. My first few times out people always got the drop on me.” She looked at his face. Something wasn’t right. It was as if he was trying to come up with the story or figure out what to say to her. “Cisco, you are telling me everything right?”

“I’ve never went out on patrol before, Laurel. I thought I could do it on my own. I was so wrong.” He winced as he tried to take a deep breath, feeling a tightness in his side. His eyes met hers and he felt his face get warm. “Of course I’m telling you everything, what do I have to hide?” Just being in the same room with Laurel made his heart beat faster. His mind went back to the days as he made the canary cry for his friend, and the happiness that it brought her when he gave it to her. “I would never hide something from you, Laurel.”

ixamxbatgirl:

“Ill deliver the message,” Barbara promised, “Now you wanna show me around and make a Gotham girl jealous?”

Cisco grinned, his whole demeanor changing. “Oh, but of course! I would never pass up an opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with a belle like yourself.” He stepped upto the woman and looked upto her, as he was at least half a head shorter than the woman.

“I didn’t even look,” Len admitted. “I just left to get some help.” What was wrong with him? He was lucky that there hadn’t been anyone waiting for him outside. He was so detailed, always so focused. The lapses in judgement the past two days worried him. He was still shaky from everything that had happened, still so tired from the fight and then the long, painful ride home. Unfortunately, the sleep he’d gotten the night before hadn’t done much to ease his exhaustion. And now the pain from his injuries was beginning to catch up to him.

He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, trying to will away a growing headache. “The burns are painful. Every time they used that taser on me, it hurt worse, even if it was in a different spot.” They had only stopped hitting him with the it because the last time time he’d woken from a forced nap, he’d thrown up all over McGuinness’s goons. The thought of Lisa going through that made his gut twist and burn. Every minute that Lisa was gone, his anxiety grew. “How long will the testing take?“

Cisco let out a heavy sigh. Has Len never seen a crime drama? You always examine the scene of the crime before acting on anything. “Dude. You should watch more television. Binge watching crime shows would have totally helped you. Also, you look like crap. You wanna take a snooze in the break room? I set up a bed in there ages ago.”

He continued to examine the gun, looking for any type of signature. He took pieces out, memorizing how they were originally in there. As he went about this, he came across a piece that was painted a paricular color orange. It was more pinkish/red than orange, and he’d only seen this color once before. Cisco was quickly snapped back to reality when Len asked the question. “Oh, it could take an upwards of 2 hours? I’m still getting the hang of all these testy machines. Seriously though, go take a nap. I won’t be going anywhere, I found something very intriguing.”

Helena sighed and nodded, pulling him in and kissing him gently. “Sorry, I honestly have never broken down like this. I’m not that type of person.”

He smiled against her lips as they kissed. “It’s okay, really. I have dealt with crying women more times than I can count.” He sighed before realizing how tool-like that sounded. “I meant with my coworker and my sister and whatnot. I haven’t dated all that many girls, so that couldn’t be a thing.” He ran a hand through his hair, obviously flustered.

Lisa laughed and put her arm around him. “Cisco, you’re adorable. The only way I’m staying over is if I sleep on the couch. After all, I should keep an eye on you every hour just in case you have a concussion.” she winked. “Also I would need some PJs…but if you put a hand on me, Roscoe might not like that.”

“I’m not opposed to you staying the night.” He stifled between a cough. “You can borrow some pajamas, no biggie. But you can take the bed, I insist.” He smiled as they continued to walk. He felt a small stinging on the back of his head, which made him curious if he really did hit his head. “I would never do that, Lisa. I’m a gentleman, I don’t put my hands on women that aren’t my girlfriend.”
