“You aren’t the only one to have stalked the shadows with their identities hidden.” Steph smiled softly before cocking her head at the other. “So, you’ve no weapons…so you must be a meta human? Do you have a name for this hero persona yet?”
Cisco smiled at the question, and had been thinking about it since his powers really began to develop. “Nothing solid yet, but the only thing I really have is ‘Shockwave’, but I’m not really partial to anything.” He dug his heel into the ground and sent a few shockwaves in Steph’s direction to give her a taste of his powers.
“Are you implying I don’t have a conscience?” she smirked. “I mean, I do bad things to bad people. Shouldn’t that even out? Should you be stopping me now?”
“Everyone has a conscious. It just depends on the strength of that conscious to determine how guilty one feels about things they do.” He said before finishing his drink. “Nah, I leave the apprehending to the pros. I’m sure if I even tried, you’d probably take me down.”
Helena squeezed his hand lightly. “That’s really sweet, Caro. But why can’t we just share your bed? No sex if you don’t want to. No pressure. But it would be nice to just… sleep… With someone else.” Helena looked out of character and shy. She was definitely out of her depth with this.
“We can do that. Do you still want some sleep clothes? Pajamas? Jammies? He grinned. “Hehehe. Jammies. I’ll go find some for you.” With that, he stood and walked to the master bedroom. “Did you want to shower? ‘Cause I can get you a towel and stuff, too.” Cisco hollered from across the apartment.
Cisco sat down in an empty chair and smiled at the woman. “Okay, so what’s on your mind?” He paused. “That wounded very therapist-like, and that’s not how I meant it to sound.”
Steph smiled a little, shrugging at the hooded man. “I’m actually quite comfortable in the dark, though your concern is admirable. Why is it that you’re following me?” She couldn’t make out his face, but she wasn’t concerned. While she no longer wore a mask, she’d kept her skills honed.
“Haven’t met many people who like the dark in cities like this. Most stay where there are street lights, but not you. Why?” Cisco asked. “Not following in a creepy way, I promise. Just want to be sure you get to wherever you’re going safely.”
Lisa had heard the chaos but she hadn’t realize who had been in the fray. She preferred to be in situations where she could just shoot and not get hurt. Which is why she had been breaking into a jewelry store instead of joining in. When she heard ‘The Top’ she felt her stomach sink.
“Cisco?” she hurried into the alleyway to find him alive, with some bumps and bruises. “The Top did this to you?”
Lisa swore under her breath and braced herself for the reaction. “The Top is a guy…I kinda have a thing with…don’t tell Lenny.”
“Yeah. I think needless to say, he’s a dick.” Cisco said, remembering not so fondly then man who had somehow made his vision twist and his body cooperate with the other’s commands. “Yep. I’m not a fan.” He said with a nod as he got to his feet.
“Does it ever bother you to live in each black and white terms? Good and evil? What about those of us who are bad for good reason?” she asked. “I mean, I’m sure you’re not a saint. You’re adorable and kind but I’m sure there’s some bad in you.” her voice was light and curious.
“Not really, no. I never really thought of it like that. I just assume that bad people are bad and they need to be stopped.” He paused, taking a drink. “Of course I’m not a saint. But I don’t purposely do bad things just to get my way or to see what will happen.” He said, almost offended. “I wouldn’t do something like that. If I were to ever hurt someone, no way would it be on purpose. It would forever be on my conscious.”
Helena shook her head with a small laugh at his enthusiastic ‘yay’. “I ate before I came to get you,” she said softly, still with a soft smile. No one had offered to cook for her since Michael.
“Oh.” He said, looking at the clock and realizing how late it was. “Well, you’re welcome to stay the night. You can wear some of my clothes if you want. I can take the couch, you can take my bed.”
