Lisa smirked at his honesty. Most people would never say anything like that to her. It was rather refreshing to have someone be so open for once.

“You do know I was raised in a living hell, don’t you? I had no reason to have aspirations for good. Len was the best person I knew, why not be like him, ya know? Besides, it’s exciting. Leading a good life and following the rules are boring.”

“Actually it’s really not. I lead what I believe to be a good life, follow all the rules, and it’s quite exciting. It all depends on who you interact with.” He smiled. “Giving the people I know and who they’re involved with, I’m surprised I’m not in more trouble than I am.” Cisco shrugged as the waitor came over to get their drink order. “Ladies first,” He said, motioning to the other.

Office Call: Cisco/Helena

Helena laughed. “Yeah, you did. You said that you didn’t like commitment.”

“But that doesn’t mean I’ll run just because someone told me who they are.” He said with a shrug. “Sure, I don’t like commitment. Lah-dee-dah. I won’t just run out on you when you seem to need someone most.”

“If you want to run away just tell me to leave because it wouldn’t be very fair for you to run out the door when it’s your own apartment.”

“Nah, I’m not really one to run.” He laughed, glacing over at the woman. “But really, thanks for telling me that. I’m sure it took a lot of trust to let that information go.” Cisco said with a genuine smile, reaching over and taking the woman’s hand.

“You now this. Though don’t get me wrong, most of them are pretty cool too. But yea, you got it.” Bart said with a nod. “But hey, that doesn’t keep us away from ‘em, right?”

“Not really.” He laughed. “One of these days I’m hoping to find a simple girl, no superheroes, no vigilantes, no crazy scheme to take over the world. But I think hell might freeze over first.”

Helena winced and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. “Thus why I don’t want to talk about myself. I haven’t… been with a guy just as Helena since…” She couldn’t bring herself to say the name. “Since him. And I just want to try it. I’m tired of being spat at on the street by bat loyal children and pushed away by my own kind. I only hurt the mob. That’s it. I don’t step on anyone’s toes. I run that market all by myself. I have to. Everyone else calls me a villain. But I’m not. I’m not a villain. Maybe I’m a bad person. But I’m not a villain. I keep people safe just like the rest of those vigilantes. Oliv- He made me like this and he can’t even look me in the eye. But I don’t understand it. I do everything that he did but somehow when I do it I’m a villain? My targets are a concentrated group of criminals whom own the justice system with dirty money and blackmail. Maybe the other heroes can drop their targets off at the police station but do you want to know what happens when I do it? They walk in less than an hour. The only way to keep them in line is fear. It’s not that–” She stopped herself, the hurt flooding out of her like a river. She wasn’t even sure what was the Helena that she created to lure Cisco and what was just the shell of a woman she occupied, it flooded together.

Cisco simply sat there as the woman spoke, not know what to say to make the woman feel comforted.

Helena’s eyes flitted around the room, looking for the threat. Waiting for someone to jump out of the woodwork. It was a trap. This wasn’t happening. In her glances, however, she caught sight of the kind looking man and felt something stir. “I’m the Huntress,” she said softly, watching his face carefully. “I… People say that I’m evil and I’m a murderer and I’m this horrible person. I just don’t want to be the Huntress with you, okay? And she’s all I know. I can’t tell you what makes me tick. I can’t tell you about my life. The person sitting on this couch with you doesn’t exist.”

The name ‘Huntress’ sparked a fuzzy memory in his mind. Didn’t Vi tell  him something about that vigilante the other night? Trying to remember began to give him a headache, so he stopped trying. “Well I can’t say that I agree with your methods, all things considering.”
