Eobard pursed his lips, slid his glasses off and examined the lenses. “We both know that’s a lie. So I can only assume you already know what’s inside that chair,” he said, cleaning his glasses with the hem of his shirt.
“I don’t know a thing about your chair, Thawne.” Cisco stated in a firm voice. His temper was going to get the best of him if he didn’t calm down. “I will find your freaking chair and get it to you. Now I believe I asked you to leave.” Don’t make me do something I might regret, Cisco thought to himself.
“You’ve plenty of courage. You stopped Snart from killing me by pretending a vacuum was a gun. You’re plenty brave.” Looking up at his friend he smiled a bit. “I just want to keep you safe you know? And Caitlin too. And everyone else, but I’m focusing small right now. If you…if you want to test out your powers and train you know I’m here to help, right?”
“Courage when my friends are in trouble, sure. But when I’m on my own, not so much.” Cisco sighed. “I know, I’m just afraid I might hurt you. I don’t know what I’m capable of.”
Helena was pleased that he backed off of the subject and turned her head to kiss his neck. “I just got some waffles and eggs and stuff.”
“That sounds nice.” He smiled, bringing the woman’s face up to meet his. “You’re pretty great, you know.” Cisco said, their foreheads touching and their lips inches apart.
“Cisco, you can’t act foolishly out in the field. You have to think before you try and intact justice because you can die. Do you understand that?” Sara sighed slipping beneath his arm, holding him up. “How about a tub filled with ice?”
“I was thinking. I was thinking that the guy was trying to steal a car and somebody had to stop him.” Cisco said, reluctantly allowing his friend to help him. “I think I should get my ribs checked out. It feels like something isn’t right.”
“I’ll get you better meds. I’ve got a few doctor friends that would likely give me the prescriptions.” Barry looked at him and smiled a bit. “No, no..I understand. I mean, I go out as the Flash, and I’ve no right to stop you. You supported me, and I should do the same, I just..” He looked down at his hands, the bruises on his friend’s body really getting to him. “I’m terrified of what happens if it goes wrong.”
“Dude. You have every right to stop me. We both know that my powers are still weak yet, and I definitely don’t have the courage to stand up to thugs.” Cisco explained as he slowly sat up on the table. He placed a reassuring hand on his friend’s shoulder before speaking again. “It’s not your fault, Barry. And I won’t be going out again until I’m sure of exactly what I can do…which probably won’t be for quite some time.”
