Matt just sat there, unable to formulate the words. Each sentence spoken was another dagger to the heart. One after another, after another. Tears streamed down his face, making his blue eyes practically glow against his dark lashes. His gut wrenched when she said she never cared. How could he have been so stupid? Of course she didn’t, nobody ever did.
