“Yeah, I’m fine.  I bandaged it and it’s just sore at this point.”  Barry rubbed the back of his neck, not really wanting to worry his friend.  “I know, I just..can’t sleep.  And I got an hour when she spent the night.  I average two or three on nights when I do sleep.  I’ll be fine.  I’m keeping the hallucinations at bay.”  He shrugged and looked down, feeling uncomfortable.

“Dude, those hallucinations won’t stay at bay if you keep sleeping like you do!” He said, walking back to the suit to really assess the damage. “Violet spent the night? What? You didn’t-” He stopped, closing his eyes. “Nevermind. I don’t want to know.” He shook his head, shaking the image out of his head. “What I do want to know is: what are your intentions with my sister, Barry?”

Barry sighed as he discovered the blood, knowing he was caught.  “It’s mine.  And I know I shouldn’t have.  I was caught by surprise.  Didn’t notice a second mugger and he managed to get me with his knife .  It wasn’t too deep and it’s nearly healed up.  I’m just sorry about the suit…”

“Dude. You got stabbed? You’re okay, right?” Cisco said, crossing to his friend. “This lack of sleep is really messing with you. You never forget to notice important things like that.” Cisco sighed, laying a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “I told Vi that I would personally knock you out if that meant you getting more than an hour of sleep each night. It’s not healthy, man. You’re going to start hallucinating, and that’s never good.”

always-going-faster:

“I am!”  Barry smiled a bit, hoping Cisco wouldn’t notice, or try to prove he’d been injured.  It was nearly healed, but his side was definitely still tender.  “Yep, it got caught.  Nothing to talk about at all.”  He’d cleaned the blood out, but he figured it definitely didn’t look like a snag.  Barry had just hoped the other wouldn’t notice.

As Cisco examined the suit closer, he saw a darker shade of red along the tear in the suit. “Okay, number one, this definitely isn’t a tear. It’s a clean cut. Number two, this is blood. Whether it’s yours or somebody elses, I’m still concerned. What did we say about lying?” He asked, running his finger along the hole. “And what happened to you out there, dude?”

lencaptaincold:

“Good to hear.” He didn’t care, but he didn’t need The Flash or his band of misfits bothering him and his crew when they were behaving themselves. And they were behaving themselves… for now. “My sister says hi,” Len added after a moment though he was torn between annoyance and amusement at that, he decided he’d pass along the message.

“She does?” Cisco said, turning his head to the man. If he were a puppy like everyone kept saying he was, his ears would’ve perked up. “What’s she been upto lately?”

It was too late to pretend like he hadn’t heard the other man since he was over at his table before he could even wish for invisibility rather than the powers he had – Nah, he’d never give up his powers. “Yeah.” He didn’t have anything against Cisco, actually out of all those people who had imprisoned him, he was the only one who took measures to make sure him and the other metas didn’t go insane with boredom or lack of contact with other people down in their cells. He was alright by Mark, but considering the last time they saw each other he was escaping from said hold… “small world…” He muttered, “I see you got your food.”

“Yeah, isn’t it?” Cisco hadn’t held a grudge against Mardon on account he was actually pretty chill for a meta. Mardon was actually one of his favorites when everyone was locked in the pipeline. “Well, I have been here for a bit longer than you, so. Give the kitchen some time, I’m sure it will be out in just a few minutes.” Cisco said with a gentle smile. “How’ve you been, Mardon? It’s been a while since you, uh, escaped.” He said, realizing he should probably take note of the metas he runs into.

Violet sighed. “I don’t know. I’m just restless… Like. Do you think Barry is okay right now? Like. He said he does superhero stuff in his freetime. So like. What if he’s bleeding in a gutter right now and his phone is broken? Like… Have you heard from him? He slept for an entire hour last night. What if he’s all reenergized and tries to do something stupid?”

“I’m sure Barry is just fine, Vi. He would call me if anything went wrong. I’ve never given him any reason not to trust me, so…” He trailed off, sipping his soda. “Plus, Barry heals really fast, so he’d be able to run to a safe place and not bleed out there. I highly doubt one hour of sleep will get the man reenergized. I’ll talk to him, okay? I’ll knock him out if it means he gets more than an hour of sleep.” Cisco said with a laugh, wondering if he could even knock someone out, let alone his best friend.
