“Heightened senses would also be a good term.”  Emrys shrugged, cocking his head in the young man’s direction.  “Fine, fine.  I’ll keep my well intended comments to myself.”

“Heightened senses, hmm? That’s interesting. Really cool, too.” He said watching the man closely. “No, that’s not what I meant. I’m’ just usually pretty reserved, and I’ve never had an, um, stranger be concerned for my health. I do appreciate it, though. Thanks.”

that-blind-guy:

“I’ll just go with saying I’m highly observant.  Whatever it is, you should have it looked after.”

“Highly observant?” Cisco was a bit skeptical of this man that was before him. “I’m fine, really. I know how to take care of a little sickness, thanks though.” This man intrigued Cisco more than anything else.

“Cisco had opened his eyes on under the blanket and slowly peeked his head out from under the blanket, letting his eyes adjust. “Wow. It’s dark in here. Thanks, guys.” Cisco smiled a little bit, despite how he was feeling. He was really glad he had such great friends that cared so much for him. He turned the brightness down on the monitor and brought it to his face, looking at the results of his EEG. “These results definitely aren’t  normal…” Cisco trailed off.

“I wouldn’t expect them to be.  The headaches are obviously a sign of your powers.”  He smiled a bit before he shifted around the bed to Violet’s side and gently rubbed her back when he saw her tears.  “Can you tell what’s going on?  Or just that something is different than in a normal reading?”

Cisco pointed at a few of the squiggles on the monitor. “I think these are abnormal?” He said in a questionable tone. “Everything is kind of wooooooOOOoo, so I’m not completely sure. Hey Bar, do you know if there is anything to eat around the lab? I’m starving.” He turned to look at Barry and Violet and truly smiled for the first time in a few days. He pushed the monitor away, and laid back on the bed. “youguysarecute,” he muttered under his breath, still looking at the two.

“Believe me, I know. I’ve been enough of both to discover how shit they can be.” He muttered as he followed the man out of the alleyway. Although, a hospital was somewhat of a luxury compared to the League’s treatment of injuries. “Felt like picking a fight, a few guys seemed all too happy to amuse me.” Jason shrugged, hoping that he would leave it at that.

“Well, one would think you shouldn’t pick a fight, now matter how big the inkling.” He laughed. “Hmm. A good fight would be fun though. But padding. and face pad things. Nevermind.” He laughed at himself once more, and crossed the street with this new stranger, and led the way into the bar. “Why did you feel like picking a fight anyway? Why not just work it out with a punching bag?”

Emrys smiled a bit, speaking easily. “You’re a bit warmer than people usually are, and your heart rate is accelerated. I would’ve guessed you were exercising except you weren’t moving at all, so I made the next assumption which is illness.

“Yeah. Illness isn’t really my thing. Its been tough to get over whatever this is.” Cisco sighed, cocking his head to the side. “Wait- how can you tell that I’m running a fever, or that my heart rate is higher than normal?”

that-blind-guy:

“I can tell.  Do you need any assistance or do you already have friends helping you out?  I’m sorry to pry, but you seem genuinely unhealthy.”

image

“Nah, I’m alright. I’m getting by.” Cisco winced internally at the remark about his health. “I’m not 100%, but I usually don’t let it show. How could you tell?”

Barry turned the lights way down, nearly off and moved the monitor so it was close to Cisco.  “There…that should be good.  I turned the lights way down.  We’ll have Caitlin look at them as soon as we can.”  Looking at Violet, he offered. “Do you need a chair?  You look like you could sit down.”

Violet shook her head. “No, not at all. I’m ok,” she said softly. She rubbed the blanket a little with her thumb, looking down at the blanket lump in the gurney with glistening eyes.
