“It’s not odd.  You’re out of it Cisco.”  Barry very carefully placed the wires and turned on the monitors.  He waited a moment before moving to where the results showed up and he shook his head.  “No, I can’t.  If I turn the lights down, would you be able to read them if I turn the monitor your direction?”

Violet moved out of Barry’s way, and rested a hand on Cisco’s chest, letting him know that she was still there for him but looked also extremely worried.

“Uh, yeah, I can try.“ Cisco said, feeling Violet’s hand on his chest. Cisco knew very little about EEGs, and the information he did know was what a ‘normal’ graph looked like. He laid still with his eyes shut as the machine began reading his brain waves. “Are the lights dim? Can I open my eyes without wanting to curl up in a deep, dark corner?”

Violet immediately grabbed onto his arm and shook her head rapidly. “No, No. Hey. Don’t ever think like that. All my life i’ve wanted someone to have to deal with. You’re already exceeding my life expectations. Just help Barry get you better, okay?” She turned to Barry. “Can I do anything to help?”

“Violet called me and then I ran you here.  Just lay still.  And yeah, kinda.”  Gently he reached up and lightly touched a few areas on Cisco’s head, indicating where he was going to put the leads.  “Is that right?”  Looking at Violet, he smiled at her words, glad she’d forgiven Cisco for what happened.  “I’ll let you know, but for now all I can really do is try to figure out what’s happening.”

As Barry touched the correct places on his head, Cisco felt proud of his friend. “Yeah, that’s right. I hardly remember you coming in? That’s odd.” Cisco slowly opened his eyes to look about the room. He recognized the sickbay of the Lab, and regretted opening his eyes. His head was throbbing, and he slipped his hands under his thighs as to not hurt anything or anyone. “So what does it say? Do you know how to read an EEG?”

“Why do you have very important piece of technology that I shouldn’t touch out here? Anyone can easily mess with it.”

“Well, usually people don’t touch my stuff, but here you are. You didn’t answer my question. How did you get down here? You’re in STAR labs, dude. You have to have a keycard to get down here.” Cisco said, taking the piece of tech from the boy’s hands and staring him down.

Cisco began to stir from under the blanket. He was slowly coming to and could hear all that was happening around him. The little bit of light that had peeked its way to his face sent a searing pain through his head and he tried to reach up and adjust the blanket, only to find that it was more difficult than normal to move his arm. “What the hell?” Cisco muttered, feeling like he was moving in slow motion. He tried to sit up from the bed, but the onset of vertigo sent him right back to a horizontal position on the bed. “Where am I? Violet? Barry?”

Barry looked away when she threw up, wanting to leave her to her recovery while he started up the monitors.  He couldn’t really read any of this stuff, but he knew Cisco and Caitlin would be able to understand more once they saw what the machines said.  As Violet took her spot next to her brother he nodded.  “Yes he is.  Even if I have to make him alright I will.  Whatever it takes.”  Barry would do anything for Cisco, and the worry on his face said it all.  He quickly pressed Cisco’s hand back down when it moved, answering softly.  “We’re both here.  You’re at Star labs, and you are hooked up to a few monitors.  If it’s okay, I was about to attach a few to your head to read your brain activity.”

“How did I get here? Violet and I were just having breakfast?” Cisco was completely dazed. “D’you know where they go? The leads for an electroencephalogram, I mean.” Cisco continued to lay down as to not bring another bout of vertigo on to his already slow reflexes. Cisco wanted to remove the blanket from his face, but he knew if they were at the lab, that the lights were fluorescent and very bright. He felt Violet next to him and reached out his free arm blindly to her. “Vi? I’m sorry you have to deal with me.”

Barry smiled softly at her, easily lifting the young woman in his arms and held her close.  “It’ll be a bit disorienting, and you might get dizzy, but you’ll be okay.  Just..hold on.”  With a grin he took off, running them to Star Labs within a matter of seconds.  He stopped them easily and set her down very carefully, then began to take care of Cisco.  He left the blanket around his head, but gently pulled his arms out to hook them up to monitors, needing to know what was going on.  He gave Violet a soft smile.  “Are you doing okay?”

Violet looked incredibly dazed, leaning against a column of sorts and staring straight ahead like a deer in headlights with a small smile, forgetting all of the circumstances that had lead to that moment. This was the first time she was actually in the infamous STAR Labs. Clearly it wasn’t infamous to her because she had no reason to pay attention to the news before this but still, it was a ridiculously cool place. And, of course, going from one place to another literally in a second with everything whizzing by and in a cute boy’s arms… That didn’t hurt the smile either. Though she felt woozy. She squinted, trying to remember why she was there as her thoughts were really jumbled. She opened her mouth to answer him but closed it immediately, holding up a finger and staggering to a trashbin that was nearest to her, swiftly throwing up the muffin she had had for dinner that she had stolen from Oliver. Luckily her stomach had evolved with her street-living status and it was empty immediately, not leaving much mess. She flushed harder, clearly extremely embarrassed, and even more so when she caught sight of her brother buried in a blanket and hooked up to a monitor. Almost in a…. wait for it… FLASH it all came rushing back and she quickly took her brother’s side, biting her lip and looking pained. “Is he going to be alright?” She asked Barry softly.

Cisco began to stir from under the blanket. He was slowly coming to and could hear all that was happening around him. Cisco’s eyes were closed underneath the blanket. He heard everything that was going on, but he was in a haze. Everything was amplified. Sound, light, movement. He tried to block it out by shutting his eyes and trying to fall asleep. “Did Barry just get here? Hmm, I should probably talk to him. But no! Violet’s here, I don’t want to hurt her again…” Cisco thought to himself, drifting off.

“You’ll get used to the surprise appearances I hope.”  He smiled a bit before moving to Cisco.  “Cisco?  Can you hear me?”  Resting his hand on the form’s arm, he gently rubbed the other with his thumb.  “Do I need to take you to the lab or keep you here? What’s going on?”

He was really glad Barry was there, because Violet would have no idea what to do with him, he was sure of it. CIsco groaned at the sudden increase of noice and physical touch. “Headache….Lab..” he mumbled, managing to get it out before passing out.

s soon as he hung up with Violet he ran to Cisco’s apartment, shoes skidding as he slid to a stop in the living room.  “What happened?  Is he alright?  Are you all right?”  The speedster looked frantic, near panicking about his friends at this point.  With Caitlin near dying of cold and now Cisco scaring him with these headaches, Barry was finding it harder to hide how scared he was.  Times like these made him wish Wells hadn’t been a monster.

Violet jumped when the door flew open and Barry appeared in a flash of light. She cursed under her breath and shook her head, calming her breathing. “He curled up in this blanket burrito. He’s been like this for about 10 minutes. It’s freaking me out.”

But no! Violet nodded, pulling out her phone and sitting next to Cisco, hugging him gently, rubbing his arms under the blanket, trying to make sure Cisco knew that she was there for him. “It’ll be ok, bro, I promise,” she said softly as she dialed Barry’s number.

Cisco just sat there as she dialed the phone. Thoughts were racing through his mind of the moment he was killed in a different timeline, as well as the moment he could have killed his own sister with these powers of his. Would he ever learn to control them? He kept his hands tucked under his arms and didn’t let them leave, for this is the same way he felt when he and Violet were in the bar just the other day.
