“Sure” Crossed her arms and starting to tell herself that everything was going to be okay or at least she really hopes that. However, when she heard all of that, she knew it, walked faster into the room and saw Cisco in the floor and was by his side “Cisco! Cisco, are you okay?”
Cisco blinked the stars out of his eyes as he saw Caitlin’s face appear before him. “Um, I think so? Where’s the gun? It’s okay, right? That was amazing. I must have miscalculated something. I never miscalculate.“ Cisco hit his head pretty hard, and his rambling speech was pretty slurred. “Is it okay? That gun took 2 years to make.” He was so concerned with his gun that he didn’t realize there was a trail of blood trickling down his neck from a laceration on his head.
When he left, she felt her body stiffen back up. She realized that she had walked in without even taking note of her surroundings. She carefully scanned all of the faces as she waited for his return.
Cisco laughed as the barista passed the drinks over the counter and said a quick good-bye before turning and heading back to the table. “One water for Violet?” His voice raised in pitch so it sounded like a question. “Did I get that right? Is it Violet? I’m terrible with names, sorry. Anyway, what brings you to Central City?” Cisco smiled as he took a sip from his cup.
“You don’t have a choice, Cisco, they go out and jump off rooftops, this is what we do. When something goes wrong that’s out of their control, we fix it. The likelihood is Wells took it but hasn’t used it yet. So I’ll try to shut it off for now, and you start reverse engineering something that will counter it. Oh and Cisco, let’s have an answer before we tell the others. I’m not big on bringing them a problem without a solution.”
“Alright, I’ll go draw up some plans now.“ Cisco nervously walked over to his desk and booted up his computer. “I should probably change the code on the weaponry, shouldn’t I? Yeah, that would probably be a good idea, if Wells somehow comes back, then he can’t get in. Yeah. I’ll do that after this.” Cisco rambled, half talking to Felicity, half nervously talking out loud to himself.
Violet sat down, eyeing him curiously. “’Maybe?’ Perhaps you should get that all figured out then, dude. And just water, please, thanks.” Quickly retreating back into her shell.
Cisco nodded with a smile on his face. “Yeah. I was just thinking the same thing. Alright I’ll be right back.” Cisco turned on his heels and walked to the counter and ordered, talking to the barista while his drink was being prepared.
“Fine, fine, I know” Says and looked at him, nodded once “I will stay here, don’t worry but be careful, please” And with that, she was just watching what he was doing, like always that they were going to try something, she was a bit nervous “I’m ready, shoot that thing”
“I’m always careful, Cait.” Cisco said to an empty room, knowing Caitlin could still hear him through the comm. system. He braced himself, closed an eye to aim at the target across the room, and pulled the trigger. a laser-like beam shot out of the end of the gun and hit the target. Unfortunately for Cisco, the blast was bigger than expected and sent him soaring into the opposite wall. Cisco let out a yelp as he soared through the air, and then there was silence in the room, aside from the gun powering down.
“You’re a scientist?! That’s so cool! What kind? And we need to go out for drinks. Like, real drinks. Do you have a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend? Or something?” She watched him carefully and smiled as he held the door out for her.
“I’m a mechanical engineer, actually. Maybe sometime. I usually work
fairly late, so it can be a buzzkill sometimes.” Cisco laughed as the
girl continued to ramble. He took off his sweatshirt and draped it over
the back of a chair before sitting down. “Maybe? I’m not really sure.
It’s sort of complicated, I guess.” He smiled, thinking of Sara and the
times they spent together. He made a mental note to ask her what they
were. “What are you having? I’ll go up and order.”
“Well, I was- um, wondering when you wanna test the new upgrade I did on your earpiece.” Cisco was acting really odd, avoiding Barry’s gaze and fiddling with a loose string on his shirt.
“I know that and we don’t want that” Says and sighed, crossing her arms and lookined at him “You always say that and always end up hurt or something” Muttered and walked with him so she could look what he was doing, wow, okay, that was good, a good place to taste things “Fine, let’s do it, then”
“Getting hurt like, twice, isn’t always. That’s like, 2 times out of probably 100 trials we’ve done since I’ve been here.”
“You should stay here. Just to be sure. If something does go wrong, then I want you to be safe.” Cisco walked down the hallway to the room where the tests were to be held. “I’m ready if you are.” He spread his feet, giving himself a better stance to brace himself if anything were to go wrong.
She didn’t want to answer about that game, instead just put the game in one of the drawers and listened to him “Where we are going to test those weapons? And I really hope is safe, Cisco, I don’t clean your mess later, like almost always”
“Uh, not in here. Cause if we did the trials in here, and something went wrong, the lab could be destroyed and then we’d be out of a place to work.” Cisco rambled, still writing notes. “According to my calculations, things should go as planned. I know you don’t clean up my messes, Cait. You never have, and nor should you ever. I know that.” Cisco stuffed the small notepad in his back pocket before walking over to the desk and pulling up a video feed of the lab where he did most of the testing for these types of things. A well-insulated room that could withstand the blast of most things – something Dr. Wells had shown him when he started fiddling with these kinds of things. “That’s where we’re testing them,” He nodded.
