A cough echoed out of the woman to clear her throat, a hand bringing itself to her massive dark mane to fluff out the ends. It’s a tick, something of a notion to will herself to be seen–because that’s the most difficult part of life right now, to actually be seen. “Sorry”, she spoke out, tone of voice quiet but strong. “Are you in line? I just have to be in my office in a couple of minutes.”
Cisco looked up from his phone to the woman that stood near him. He tucked the stray hair behind his ear before he spoke. “Oh, sorry! I’m actually not. I got distracted.” He said, wiggling the phone in his hand. “Doesn’t happen often, but when it does, well, yeah. Please, go ahead of me.”
“Yeah, I’m the only one who can stand that” Says almost playfully and stood up, paying for her drink and looked at him “Of course, let’s go but you are okay, right? I mean, to do all of this…”
“To do all of what?” He said, laying down some bills on the bar. Cisco cocked his head to the side, confused by what she meant. “Barry? Testing stuff? Getting along without our Bossman? Yeah. I’m fine.” He brushed it off and remembered what Wells told him before everything really began happenning – He was affected the night of the particle accelerator explosion. He couldn’t really wrap his head around the fact quite yet.
“Like you said, yet” Crossed her arms when he said that, of course she wasn’t there, she was like a bit busy with everything that happened an confused and she just needed time for herself “Well, man up, it’s time for everyone to stop depending on me, always is the same thing and you need to learn how to be more careful”
“I don’t depend on you, I just need someone to make sure I don’t fatally injure myself, and I doubt Sara or Felicity wants to sit and watch as I do trial after trial and hope I don’t get hurt.” Cisco smiled, remembering when he last tested a piece of tech and Felicity watched as he was thrown across the lab. He finished off his drink and motioned for a check. “I’m ready to head out if you are.”
“Yeah, it’s the best way to live I guess. To find your center and you’d be a cute little ninja,” she scrunched up her nose as he sliced the air with his hands. The league was a band of misfits and deadly misfits at that. They’d repel from the ceilings and kill so silently the victim wouldn’t even sense a shift or stir in the air. His heart was pure and it made her feel as though there was hope in the world yet again. “Look at all that energy, you might want to conserve it because at the end of this you’ll be sparring with me.” She stiffened for a moment before relaxing, her hands smoothing over his. “First,we need to strengthen your wrists…” her delicate fingers gripped the hand wrapped around her waist. With a smooth side step, she’d ended up behind him, his hands pinned to his back. “See, now you’re going to have to comply to my will.”
“Sparring? Like, fighting? You’re gonna pummel me!” Cisco laughed, but it was short lived, as before he knew it, his arm was pinned behind him and Sara was the one who was pinning it. “You can never give me a break, can you?” He tried to shimmy out of her grasp, but to no avail. “Comply to your will, eh? What exactly does that entail?” Cisco laughed again. He’s never met a girl who could easily take him on, let alone one that he liked the way he did. It was definitely a….different experience.
“Yeah but maybe is a hard time for him too, you know? We can leave him alone for today and tomorrow we can look for him” Says and then listened to him, could not help but smiled a bit when he said that “Well, you are not giving me much of a choice, someone needs to be there and look out for you so you don’t get yourself killed or hurt or anything like that”
“I guess.” Cisco shrugged, knowing if Barry had run, he probably wanted to stay hidden. Plus, they probably wouldn’t find him very easily. “I knew you’d love the idea. But on the bright side, I haven’t killed or seriously injured myself yet, so that’s good. Odds are on my side. Well, save for a few weeks ago when you weren’t here….” He trailed off, grinning and waiting to be scolded by his friend.
“I didn’t shutter now did I? Good because this is your zen place.” She smiled her hands curled behind her back. “That’s all I needed to here. If you told anything more or less I’d walk away. People use violence to bully and to maim, it’s not about that. It is a weapon to use to save people, to save themselves.” Sara stood before the sandbag, the heels of her hands just barely grazing the worn leather. “Now come here.”
Cisco blinked the little flashback out of his eyes and smiled at Sara. “Zen? Ooh, makes me feel all ninja-like,” he said, slicing his hands through the air comically. He did a little somersault over to the sandbag and jumped slowly to his feet. “Yaaa!” He said, mimic-ing a movie-esque ninja and grinning. He walked around the sandbag and ended up behind Sara and hugged her from behind. “I’m here, teach me your ways. Please”
“Oh, that was a bed? I thought that was some kind of couch” Says and rolled her eyes once but when he talked about Barry, she just sighed “I’m not sure, don’t answer my calls or anything. But doesn’t matter, I bet he’s okay, maybe like us sometimes he needs time alone, you know?”
“That’s not like Barry, though. He usually answers whenever we call. I wonder what’s going through his mind.” Cisco sighed and took a drink, setting the glass back on the ring of water that it left on the surface of the bar. “So, would you be up for helping me test some new tech and potentially bandaging me up if something goes wrong?” He grinned, nudging her arm playfully. “I know how much you looooove doing that.” Cisco said sarcastically.
“You never bother me, we are friends and I know that I was a bit depressing about everything but I’m always here, literally. Sleeping there? Cisco, that’s not a good idea” Sighed and drink a bit more for her drink and look at him “Everything sucks at the moment but now we need to focus in help Barry and try to defeat more enemies if we have more”
“Duuuude. I’ve been sleeping there for the past couple nights after my new weapon just so happened to disappear. I’ve had a makeshift bed there for quite some time now, I’m surprised you haven’t found it.” Cisco laughed, popping a few pretzels in his mouth. “Where is Barry, anyway? I haven’t seen him in quite some time.”
“Alrighty then! I’ll be back.” Carlos got up from his seat and walked up to the bar and ordered Thea’s drink, grabbed a bowl of pretzels and came back to the table. “Here we are!” Cisco smiled and sat back down, throwing a few pretzels in his mouth.
“I know, believe me, I trusted him with my life, literally” And now she was confused and everything was just really sad “Lonely? I’m here, you know? You can always talk to me, don’t need to go alone to a bar and drink until you pass out” Says looking at her friend, sighed, she understood that, must to admit that at first she was a bit mad but she could understand why he did that “Look, is better if you don’t think about that, okay? I know how you feel but what s done, is done and you cant do anything to change that”
“I know Cait, I know. I just didn’t want to bother you I guess. I wasn’t planning on passing out here, for the record. I was planning on drinking here, then getting a taxi back to the lab. Figure I’d sleep there so I don’t get mugged or something. My apartment isn’t in the best part of the city.” Cisco rambled on and on, glad to have his friend back by his side. “I know. It just sucks,” he sighed, turning his head to face the bar once again.
