Cisco continued to fiddle with the device as Dr. Wells spoke. “It’s really for the metahumans, to stop them in their tracks. I suppose it could be used for Barry if need be.” Cisco reached down for a small piece he forgot to put in. “There. Now it’s really finished.” He paused, thinking about what may have happened had he not put that minuscule piece in. “It’s based on the same concept that dogs react to certain frequencies. Everyone can hear frequencies up to a certain point, so adding different frequencies with overwhelming strobes and other visual stimuli, well, you know.”
Harrison looked almost hungrily at it. ‘That’s a very good idea, Cisco. You have succeeded to impress me yet again.’ He drove a little closer towards Cisco and held out his hand. ‘May I take a closer look at it? I’ll be careful’
“Uh, sure,” Cisco said, handing it over to Dr. Wells. “It’s not completely finished yet, but all the bells and whistles should work. I just have to put an outside body on it.” Cisco smiled, turning and leaning his hip against the table, organizing the mess that covered the table.
Barry walked over to Cisco and looked at the video feed that had been recorded from his run. “Whoa.” He said as he watched it. “That’s so cool!” He said as he watched the feed. Barry felt his phone vibrate in his pocket as he glanced down and took it out, it was a text from Joe. He slipped it back before he sighed lightly. With a hand, Barry ran it over the back of his neck. “Have you heard from Caitlin today?” He asked, his heart racing just a little more just at the thought of her.
Cisco avoided looking at the screen to save himself the feeling of motion sickness again. He closed the video after Barry’s phone went off, sitting back in his swivel chair. “Who’s that?” Cisco asked, genuinely curious and wanting to be included. “Caitlin? She just told me she wasn’t going to patch me up if I hurt myself while testing the other tech.” Cisco laughed nervously, remembering the incident earlier in the day.
When Barry was finally sitting, he raised a brow as he noticed Cisco was resting his head. “Everything okay?” He asked as he zoomed out of his suit and into his normal clothes. He shut the glass case where his suit stood now on the mannequin and turned to Cisco. “At first I used to.” Barry laughed lightly with Cisco as he ran a hand over the back of his neck. “I was able to hear you a lot better with the near earpiece. Loved it, man.”
“Yeah, the room’s just spinning a little. I’ll be fine.” Cisco said as he raised his head off the table, the room finally not swirling around him. His hair was blown into his face as Barry changed out of his suit at super-speed. “It’s no problem, I’m glad I got to test some new tech that wouldn’t give me a concussion,“Cisco laughed, rubbing his temple as he pulled up the video from the new earpiece to show Barry.
“Laurel, as in Laurel Lance? I’ve only met her once. Haven’t talked to her since.” Cisco said uncomfortable with the lack of space between them.
“She is the new Canary?” Sara shot back with such fervor.
Cisco jumped back at the harshness of her voice. “Canary? Like, the feisty crime fighter from Starling City? I wouldn’t know. I’ve only ever heard of Canary.”
Barry laughed happily as he zoomed back to S.T.A.R. Labs. “Wow, that was great.” He breathed happily as he took the gadget off and earpiece as well, placing it on the desk near Cisco. “Caitlin’s gonna love what you’e done.” Barry took a seat into the chair next to Cisco and exhaled a heavy breath.
Cisco had laid his head on the desk to keep the room from spinning. “Wow. That was a rush. How do you not get motion sick?” He laughed lightly, opening one of his eyes to look at Barry in his red suit. “I guess we’ll have to save that for when you’re not running from place to place.”
