Stefan smiled at Miles, taking a sip of his coffee and nearly choking on it at the other’s revelation. “Wait, what?!?” He was taken aback, but also flattered. He coughed a few times, trying to clear his throat more fully. “Sorry, I just didn’t expect that. I guess I was blind to it at the time.”
“Oooh, good choice. I’m a big fan of blueberry waffle cone. It’s like breakfast in an ice cream,” Tom grinned, wiggling his eyebrows at the other. “Okay, now you ask a question. Is this weird that we’re basically playing 20 questions? That’s weird, isn’t it?”
“I should of guessed you would pick something like that” he mused giggling lightly thinking it was rather cute that that was the others favorite ice cream but he relaxed a bit from where he was tapping his fingers in thought “how about…favorite animal?”
Tom tilted his head to the side, a goofy grin smeared across his face, causing his eyes to crinkle shut. “Hey, what can I say, I love breakfast,” he laughed, his cheeks turning rosy with a light blush. “Oohh. Yikes. That’s actually really hard. Hmm.” Tom paused, tilting his head from side to side as he was deciding between his choices. “I’m gonna have to say something super basic. A dog. More specifically, a Golden Retriever. Man’s best friend.”

“Oh, here,” Elena smiled, poking the back button on her phone. The previous song began to fill the car’s speakers once again. “It seems like you have a good support system, Anthony. I’m really happy for you.” She couldn’t help but be happy that he was raised in a loving family, even if it wasn’t the one he was born into. “I think you’re really going to like our family too,” she added as they passed the ‘Welcome to Mystic Falls’ sign.
“Sam,” she sighed. “That’s a nice name. So what brings you to our little town of Mystic Falls? Can’t be tourism,” Elena added with a laugh.
Stefan swirled the liquid in his glass again, watching as it slowed. “Well, there’s Niklaus, Elijah, Kol, and Rebecca. They’re really great. Klaus and I were inseparable growing up. The best of friends.” A smile spread across Stefan’s face as he spoke about his family. Something itched at the back of his mind about his blood relations, but he pushed it from his mind before it gave him a headache.
“I don’t recognize you, so you must be new in town. I’m Stefan.”
