Miles signed as he walked briskly to his class holding his books over one arm and his coffee in the same hand. Miles tried to dodge who he could but he soon knocked into someone after looking down for a moment before gasping as the coffee spilt every where. Miles looked up swiftly glaring lightly before seeing it was a rather handsome man which had his expression softening just a bit blushing lightly completely forgotting about the coffee all over his sweater lucky for him he had an actual shirt underneath. “Well that was a waste” he said looking at his now almost empty coffee cup “I suppose that’s what I get for not looking up for but a moment”

Stefan was running late, trying to be human and using normal walking speed even when he was going to be late. “Oh God, I’m so sorry.” Stefan blurted, immediately locking eyes with the other. “I’m sorry, can I buy you another? It’s totally my fault. I should have stepped out of the way.” Stefan felt terrible, but at the same time he was grateful that fate gave him but a moment with the handsome man he ran into. He suddenly felt a warm stickiness begin to seep into his sleeve, and realized that he’d gotten coffee on himself as well. “I can also give you another shirt or sweater or something, my dorm is just a few minutes’ walk away. It’s the least I can do.”

“Aw, honey. I’m sorry the baby is kicking the crap outta you,” Ray cooed, kissing her on the cheek. “All the more reason you’re a badass. Dealing with literal pain to bring a new life into this world.”
“Have I told you lately that I love you?” Ray smile, nuzzling her neck. “Damn, do I love you,” he sighed.

“In the end, it will be worth it.” She told him with a smile. “Well, now it’s still okay to walk around with the kicking. I am sure when I am further along, it will be harder.”

Ruffling her hand through his hair, she leaned against him. “Yes, you did.” Amelia smiled “I love you too. More then you know.”

Ray smiled again, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “You know, it’s getting late,” he stated, checking his watch. “You wanna stay in while I go and fix us dinner?”

“I get that, and I forgive you.” Ray said with a smile, reaching over and taking her hand. “We all have a past that made us who we are today. If we let that get in the way of progress, we are only hurting ourselves.”

Ray looked out into the club and blinked slowly a few times. “Damn, I just gave myself advice.” Ray had been struggling with his romantic relationships, ever since he lost his fiance, Anna. “I- um, I need to go talk to Oliver about something. I’ll be right back.”

Ray got up and ran down the stairs, trying to look casual about it all. As soon as he was out of Amelia’s eyesight, he booked it down the stairs and into the bunker. “Oliver,” he started, nearly out of breath from running. “I have something important to ask you. Can I – date your sister? Amelia, I mean.”

He had stopped when he heard his name called out, turning on his heel when he heard Amelia behind him. A look of concern and confusion was plastered across Ray’s face. “Was I supposed to assume that you were covered in scars? I mean, I know you’ve had a rough past, but I could never have even imagined anything like that.”

Ray’s fingers twisted together as he thought. He paced from the bar to the stairs in silence twice before joining Amelia on the stairs. “Why didn’t you tell me?” His voice sounded broken and distant, his eyes not meeting hers.

Looking uo, she thought about the reason. Was she afraid? No, not really. Or was she? Amelia bit her lip.

“I don’t know. I was afraid you would look at me, differently. Just like Laurel did, in the beginning.” Amelia was scared of the pain of losing him, just like she had lost in the past. “I’m not the fragile teenager I was before the island, anymore. But sometimes, it feels like I am.”

“I mean, yeah. Of course I’m going to look at you differently,” Ray admitted, realizing that probably wasn’t the best thing to day. He turned and looked at Amelia, hoping to catch her eyes.

“I’m going to look at you differently because I know what you’ve been through. I’m not going to look down on you by any means, but I will respect you much more for going through that.” Ray stated matter-of-factly. “I know you’re not. The island changed you in ways I cannot imagine. And while I didn’t know you back then, I imagine she was pretty amazing.”
